An exquisite shopping centre located admirably in the great waterfront city, Portsmouth.
We thoroughly enjoy visiting this shopping centre owing to a number of factors. The location is nicely accessible by all modes of transport, including walking, cycling, bus and train along with car. There is ample parking in the impressive and advanced multi-storey car park under the centre (this option is slightly pricier) but there is also a more affordable car park across the road which has cheaper hourly rates; either way, there is plenty of space.
The selection of retailers in this centre is well chosen, the variety is diverse and there are stores to meet all customer expectations and price ranges along with some lovely food stores such as Cornish Bakery, Costa Coffee and also the Cadbury Outlet, selling a selection of your favourite sweet treats!
The centre is well managed by LandSec - everything from the facilities through to the guest services has been to my satisfaction. There are ample toilet facilities around the centre which are regularly cleaned and welcoming, guest services are open during centre hours and are friendly and helpful, along with the free water bottle refills and phone charging they offer too (thank you!). The centre is safe and there are security staff there plus some lovely seating exists making it a pleasurable visit in the summer.
We regularly visit this centre as it is one of my favourites owing to the deals to be had in some of the stores, the waterfront setting and also the general cleanliness and management of the centre itself. The Spinnaker Tower is located within the centre grounds and would make for a great family outing to see views across the Solent and Gunwharf Quays is also home to one of the best portfolios of restaurants I've ever seen at a shopping centre before, with more than 30 restaurants and food locations.
Thank you very much for doing so well almost every time we visit and I strongly recommend this location regularly to friends and family. It will not be long until we...
Read moreI absolutely love this shopping area! It's clean and vibrant, and you wouldn't even guess that there's a recession going on! Unlike many other high streets these days, it's not filled with countless phone stores and 'To Let' boards. The variety of brands available here is simply astonishing, and you could literally furnish your entire house in just one day. From trendy fashion and stunning jewellery to stylish home items and delicious food and drinks, they have it all covered. Oh, and let's not forget about the hotel, casino, and the iconic Spinnaker Tower!
I must say, to pick on just one store, Skechers has the most extensive selection I've ever seen in one of their stores. Unusually, but not bad at all, no Primark in sight! It's refreshing that on a hot day, to be in a place like this where I can spend the entire day basking in the sun and enjoying the beautiful view of the boats, then shopping and then going on to have a drink! The dining options are mostly chain-based, but with such a wide range of quality chains, you're bound to find something you love.
During my visit, I was pleasantly surprised to see an American yacht docked here, alongside other stunning vessels from around the world. It's incredible how this place is an outlet because it exudes nothing but class and style. In comparison, somewhere like Braintree Freeport definitely has a cheap and tacky vibe. This shopping area easily ranks among our favourite shopping centers in the country....
Read moreAn absolute faboulous experience. We picked an extremely good day for it. The whole process of getting to the viewing area went seamlessly. There is a guide in the lift who explained what you are about to experience. Which is wonderful touch. It gets you in the mood. But what you see as the lift opens. Takes your breath away. I do not like heights but the way it was designed did not make you feel uneasy. The exact opposite. I was going from window to window taking lots of photos. There were telescopes with a speaking guide. Going through the sights and its history. This was reasonably priced. I even plucked up the courage to go along the Sky Glass. Again taking photos of 100m down. It was amazing. Even the Sky Garden which I was not too sure about. Was not that bad at all. With the netting overhead it meant you had a breeze blowing. Which gave you the feeling of being in the elements. It was money well spent and the whole family thoroughly enjoyed. Given a rare treat of a stunning sunset. Before we finished by doing a quick look at the shops on Gun Wharf Quays and a bite to eat. We took more photos of the structure outside. It was lit up and showed off the Spinnaker even more. Will definitely recommend to family...
