Our poor experience started at the door. The game master, Tray seemed put out that we were there 15 minutes before our game was scheduled to begin per the instructions on the email PanIQ sent to us. He said that he couldn't start the room early due to the fact that it was a public room and others might join and that he was still resetting the room from the previous players. All of this was understandable but his tone gave off the impression that he was annoyed we were early even though we arrived at the time requested of us by the business. When it was time to start, he asked us if anyone in our party had done an escape room before which all of us had. He then said, "Thank god, you would NOT believe how many times a day I have to explain what an escape room is." I'm sorry but isn't that your job as, you know, an ESCAPE ROOM GAME MASTER?!?! While explaining how the walkie-talkies worked, another party came in for their room and he ended up having to explain to them what an escape room was. And honestly, after having completed over 80 rooms his spiel was literally the least enthusiastic and comprehensive explanation I've ever heard. I felt sorry for the poor women in the other group going into their first room with so little guidance and a clearly less than enthusiastic GM.
We did the Wild West room and were incredibly frustrated throughout the entire process. The second puzzle involved having to lasso something across the room which was nothing but a huge time suck. After the game, Tray told us that some people spend the entire hour on that puzzle. That is just poor game design. The time-wasting puzzles continued after that and we were frequently stalled due to faulty tech and puzzles designed to waste time and frustrate the customers. Another puzzle broke one of the cardinal rules of Escape Room design - puzzles should NOT require outside knowledge. Additionally, several times we called asking for hints, we were told we needed to wait a minute. I have never had that experience while playing any of the other 80 rooms I have played before. Twice Tray had to come in and fiddle with the tech to allow us to proceed to the exit, which also had broken tech and required the use of our cell phone flashlights to work around which completely destroyed the immersion of the room. Additionally, the puzzles were all linear so most of our party just stood around waiting while one or two of us fiddled with the puzzles.
Finally, upon leaving, Tray told us that the best way to "tip" him is by leaving a review; "he really needs it because he is broke". Well, sorry Tray, you clearly didn't want to be there and halfway through the game, we didn't want to be there either.
Avoid this room unless you want to be frustrated by puzzles that are clearly designed to waste time and...
Read moreEDIT: I will gladly send an email to provide more detail. The dismissiveness of Jack’s attitude as “that’s just how they are” is troubling. Glad that my concerns aren’t taken seriously by this business. -1 stars if possible. Also, if that’s the case in terms of difficulty of the Zombie room, why is the difficulty rating so misleading on your website? It should be clearly noted as “for beginners” or something along those lines. Such a waste of $200 for 5 people when that could get me 1 game at The Escape Games at the Colony and then some…
ORIGINAL: My girlfriend and I have done many escape rooms across the U.S. We were grabbing drinks with some friends who had never done escape rooms so we decided to bring them to PanIQ as we were in the area. Biggest mistake. Jack, our game master, had the worst attitude and truly set the tone for the experience. From walking in, she was rude, uninviting, and condescending when explaining the rules. We did the zombie outbreak room and it has some potential but did lack excitement and creativity as we finished the room extremely quickly. Overall, it could have been an okay experience, but Jack truly made it the worst escape room we’ve been to ever. Not sure if this was an individual experience of ours as the reviews seem to be overwhelmingly good but I would go elsewhere. Many more options...
Read moreIf you're looking for a thrilling and heart-pumping adventure, look no further than paniq room! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and welcoming energy that instantly put us at ease. They walked us through the rules and safety precautions, making sure we felt completely comfortable before starting the experience.
Once inside the panic room, we were immediately transported into a world of mystery and intrigue. The puzzles were challenging yet fun, and Trey and Laurel were always nearby to offer helpful hints and guidance when needed. They struck the perfect balance between giving us the freedom to figure things out on our own and providing just enough support to keep us on track.
One of the things we appreciated most about Trey and Laurel was their attention to detail. Every aspect of the room was meticulously crafted, from the clues and props to the lighting and sound effects. It was clear that they had put a lot of time and effort into creating an immersive and engaging experience for their guests.
Overall, we had an absolute blast in paniq room. It was the perfect mix of challenge and excitement, and we left feeling energized and exhilarated. If you're looking for a unique and unforgettable adventure, we highly recommend giving their panic room a try. Thanks for an amazing time,...
