In general I usually find that Albertsons is more pricey than other grocery stores, but it was the closest at the time, so I tried to do my shopping here for convenience. I went in today, filled up my basket, got to the register and it said no "EBT, DEBIT OR CREDIT CARDS, CASH ONLY " ..ok, next register, same thing... Then an employee said it was all registers because the systems were down. I understand when your system goes down, it's no fault of any employee. My disappointment was that I spent all that time gathering my groceries only to find out at the register, I needed cash. There was no signage on the outer doors, no inkling that anything was amiss. So many people were abandoning their carts at the register up in arms because no one said anything up front. Personally I would've appreciated an employee by the door letting incoming patrons know, "hey, it's going to be cash only today because the systems are down". Otherwise it's a waste of everyone's time. I left and did my shopping at Walmart. Who carries cash anymore?
Update; Please, please educate your employees on Albertsons digital gift cards. I am on Medicare disability and I can redeem, through my insurance, my choice of gift card for meeting certain goals. I chose to redeem for Albertsons gift cards, because it was useful. Twice, at two different stores in my city, I was given such a hard time trying to redeem legitimate gift cards. This second time was the hardest I was given. It was embarrassing and degrading. I was given exasperated sighs and eye rolls, by "Wendy" specifically. I was told your company does not accept gift cards from YOUR own company if they are digital, which makes 0 sense. They basically closed the line I was in because I refused to leave until I spoke to someone in management, to which I was told that the manager would deny me as well. The manager came, took one look at the card on my phone and informed the employees that they do in fact take these gift cards. I was hauled off to customer service, and they suspended my transaction. People were staring and thinking I'm trying to steal. I had my teenage son with me, which made it worse because he felt ashamed, ashamed for doing NOTHING wrong. I did not feel ashamed, but I did feel very felt singled out and very much judged. I am a Hispanic woman, and since it was a grocery trip I didn't exactly wear my Sunday best, but that's beside the point. My appearance shouldn't matter. I understand that my city has a big problem with theft, I myself worked for JCP in the cash room as an auditor, so I've seen some sketchy things... But, my digital gift cards do not look sketchy or fake, because they aren't, lol. I was further insulted when after my gift cards were accepted there was an off hand comment about how if they come back fake the store will take the hit... As if that's supposed to make me feel bad or something.. again for doing NOTHING wrong. I was not rude, belligerent, uncouth or disrespectful. I handled it firm but tactfully, as much as possible in the situation. I went out of my way to apologize to the employees if they felt I was rude in any way. I received no sincere apologies in return. This should 100% not be happening in your stores. Heather wasn't bad, she tried to be accommodating, however she is the one who made the off hand comment about if the card is fake. I understand there is a lot of worry about theft, but c'mon. I believe the initial cashier was Roxanne, who was firm in her "no" stance and was ready to dismiss me immediately. She wasn't rude, but not exactly helpful either. Wendy was straight up rude, even after I humbled myself and I apologized to her. Thank you. I also sent a copy of this to the Albertsons corporate office. I still have a remaining balance on my gift card and I feel hesitant to redeem it. Very disappointing. I don't think I'll opt for an Albertsons gift card again. Do...

Nov 19, 19. Maybe it's just me, but the service at checkout has declined. The cashiers are still quite friendly but I have had 3 odd encounters with the people who will take your bags to your car. Perhaps they are looking to stop this service. Twice I have been asked if I want help out only to say yes, have the employee leave and be left to attend to my cart myself. A third time an employee informed me they needed my cart and so he would follow me to my car. He never offered to assist even when I got to my car and began to load it. He stood and watched me. When I removed the last bag, he took the cart and left. I felt as if the store was afraid I was going to steal it which I found quite insulting since I have shopped there since 1995. I realize it is now a market and not a supermarket. Perhaps I am no longer the right kind of customer.
March 5, 2022 I continue to shop though less frequently. Much having to do with pandemic. I have found that at times throughout this, I have been able to find items here that I was unable to find elsewhere. I like the addition of their ready meals, just wish there were more microwave choices. All I have tried have been quite tasty. They continue to be the only place I can find Frostie Root Beer...
Read moreSunday, 12 March 2023. Received EXEMPLARY Customer Service today while shopping at the Albertsons Market Store #937 at 10131 Coors Rd N.W., Albuquerque NM 87114.
Albertsons Associate Ms. Roxanne R. assisted me with the new procedure for entering my phone number into the Self-Service Checkout register in order to receive My Rewards points during today's visit. Additionally, Ms. Roxanne showed me how to perform a price check for a Bargain Book item AND how to edit & remove items from my final cash register receipt, before payment! She did ALL THAT for ME, GRACIOUSLY, then returned to assisting the customers at the other 3 or 4 Self-Service Checkout registers! What a skilled PROFESSIONAL!
I usually shop at this Albertsons Market at least once or twice weekly for their terrific selection of fresh fruits and vegetables. That gives me an opportunity to gaze at how well the staff works together as a "team", too! Nice job, Store #937!
Big-time "Thumbs Up" to Ms. Roxanne R! Today, Ma'am, you impressed me so much that I thought about standing outside (the store) holding a huge Albertsons Market sign reading, "Customer Service Excellence Inside"! Much Respect to you!
Five Star Albertsons Market shopping...
