In response to Alexander Campbell, I too, have tried to contact them several times by email and phone/leave message with no response. I would love to take this tour, but if the date requested is unavailable for booking, why not contact those interested to say so and give a better time to reach out? Why recommend patrons to book early, but when the attempt is made, there is no reply even though it is stated they will make contact by the next business day?
EDIT: After finally booking this tour, here's a detailed review of my experience in September 2023.
The tour itself was wonderful. I booked the RV, and our guide did a fantastic job running the show alone as his wife, who rides shotgun, could not be there. He was personable and attentive to the riders, which makes it hard to understand why the company doesn't address customers more efficiently. I'll get to that in a moment. We drove past shooting locations or had a little stopover to look closer. This tour is a treat for any Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and El Camino fan. You can talk to other fans and geek out over the entire Breaking Bad universe. But this is the only good out of it.
Now, for what has me upset about the venture. If you need to learn how it works, booking a tour with them is challenging. Most tourists come from miles away — other states and countries (for me, it was over 2,000 miles), so it's something that should be secure when making plans, and they need to understand that. One must keep watch when dates become available to book, which is usually about a week or two before a visit. When the dates turn green on their calendar, book it because they sell out quickly. It's even hard to contact them to get answers to questions. Emails and phone messages go unanswered, which is frustrating even though they say they're "working on it."
Another disappointment was handling the group photos from my tour. They post beautiful shots from the tours on their Facebook page, and I was excited to see ours. I chatted with some lovely people and would have liked to see the photos of the places we visited as a group. They claimed the photos were posted, but neither I nor my friend could find them. I made another attempt to get some information through Facebook and was then told they didn't post them because they didn't turn out well.
Why were there different replies, and what was wrong with the photos? I messaged them to explain that I was okay if the photos weren't up to par and wanted to see if they would email me those images. Again, poor customer service because they never contacted me. Just before posting this review, I returned to read our exchange on their Facebook page, which were all deleted... like sweeping the situation under the rug. My only conclusion is that the group photos were deleted from their camera on that day, but they didn't have the courage to say so. I would have accepted an honest mistake over blatantly ignoring my query.
Word of advice for those who operate the tour. Hire more people to help out. The tours consistently sell out, and it would show excellent customer service, which they need, if someone would promptly and accurately answer customer inquiries by phone, email, and social media. Also, the website leaves much to be desired. A fresh update would keep those who visit engaged. When I first saw the site, I was skeptical of its legitimacy strictly because it is outdated, hard on the eyes, and excessively wordy—very 2000s.
I give the tour an 8/10, but regarding their customer service, it's 1/10 simply because there is none. Overall score... 4/10. This place is worse than Breaking Bad. They're Breaking Awful! A suggestion for those with their own transportation and a map is to do the tour on your own so that you won't be annoyed with this...
Read moreFirst I will say that Luigi was a fantastic host. He is super entertaining, has a ton of stories to tell about the series, and is very knowledgable.
That being said there are a few things I'd like to highlight which are the reasons that led to give a poor rating:
Company isn't reachable: I lost count how many times we tried to contact the company (via phone or email) to see if book our tour for a specific date due to travel arrangements. We NEVER heard back from anyone.
Booking system: It is a nightmare and doesn't allow you to book in advance until roughly a week / a few days before the event! Needless to say that this is extremely stressful especially if you are travelling from far (my wife and I were visiting from PA and we could only book our tour... the DAY before the event - and we were lucky there were spots available!)
Last but not least: We were super excited to have booked the RV Tour (which is advertised at the same cost than the tour with the mini-bus ). The day of the tour, we got a call at 7.30am from the owner of the company, letting us know that since they only had 7 people booked in total for the tour, they were going to use the mini-bus instead of the RV. We weren't even asked if we wanted to request a refund or anything like that. I get that the prices are the same for both the RV or the mini-bus, however but perhaps we would never have booked the tour if it wasn't for the RV experience! When we got in the min-bus the same moring, we asked our tour guide why the RV wasn't available. He said it was because of mechanical issues... To this day we are still unsure what was the real issue.
I am not one to write complaints or poor reviews, however I think future customers deserve full transparency on the entire process. Apart from the above, we had a a great time and any BB fan will certainly...
Read moreI had been looking forward to this tour for over 2 years, thanks to COVID. Our trip to NM was rescheduled a few times, but this tour was 100% worth the wait... We didn't get to ride in the RV due to an issue with the brakes, but we ended up with two different tour guides and drivers, and still had a great time visiting many of the filming locations for Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and El Camino. This included Walter White's house, Lo Pollos Hermanos, the car wash, and others. It was roughly 2 hours.
Since this was also a wedding trip, we missed some of the preparatory e-mails, but Frank and the others on the tour were very understanding and waited for us to figure out where to go and where to park.
We met in Old Town and proceeded to go by Dog House and many other locations. During the drive, we had various moments of trivia where people could win prizes, videos to help folks remember specific scenes and sights, as well as background details for the locations and scenes we were discussing.
We ended at the Breaking Bad Store that not only has a lot of exciting Breaking Bad themed merchandise, but also a Breaking Bad museum of sorts. I was totally geeking out! (We even were given a discount for being a part of the tour.)
I had no clue how many movies and television shows film in Albuquerue! I highly recommend anyone join this tour. It's super fun and interesting if you love these shows/movies and...
