We decided to go up to Santa Fe for the day so we had to catch the very cheap Rail Runner from ABQ station downtown. When we arrived by ride share it didn’t feel safe. The train station sits behind the greyhound station and the metro bus station is to the left. For you to find the train platform you need to go behind the greyhound station and you will see a sign for Amtrac and for Rail runner but no information telling you what track of the 5 is Southbound and what part is Northbound. This station/platform has no directions on what track is what so here you go as we learned the hard way and got on the southbound train not the northbound. The Northbound train to Santa Fe comes on track 2 platform and the Southbound train comes on Track 1 closest to the station. Pay close attention to if your train goes all the way to Santa Fe or back to ABQ downtown as some don’t go past ABQ downtown. The area the station is in has a lot of homeless people and drunks it didn’t feel safe at all. There was 1 police car a few streets down and when we returned, they were at the station. It is so cheap to get a day pass its $5 unlimited, so I recommend that. You can buy it online and have it for when you board or buy on the train. From an aesthetic point of view, there is nothing too impressive about the station. Along with housing the Amtrak train, it's the home for the Grayhound Bus and Rail Runner to Santa Fe. There is an extensive homeless population around the station, all of which were kind and kept to themselves. The station was as clean as a public transportation area could be and highly secure! Multiple security guards and countless staff members are around every corner if you require assistance. You'll be on your way instantly, especially if you're riding the Amtrak; the train is a hop, skip, ramp, and jump from...

Left for Los Angeles CA, on 12/16/2023 4:16pm train was stopped for about 45min due to engine problems. Decided to take off got stuck in Pueblo NM 20 miles away from departure for about 2.5/3hrs engine went out. Los Angeles CA arrival was set to have been at 7am 12/17/2023. It's now 11:15 and we're still 2.5hrs out. 6 hours added to an already 16hr trip... I'll be calling Monday morning to see if there's any type of discount for this or next trip and I hope everyone else follows suit this is uncalled for do things happen yes but maybe it's time to get with 2023 and upgrade your...

Great building with excellent character. People are nice, seating is somewhat plentiful and check in processes are good. Overall a good place for those who are traveling. Vending machines and bathrooms available also. TV in the lobby, small and not very good sound but it's good enough...like a hospital waiting room kind of quality. Drop off circle in front with plenty of space. Grocery store about 1 block west, and Tucanos Brazilian Grill just down the street.

Train feels super safe with security walking around and it’s very clean. Bathroom was very clean too. I was very surprised how inexpensive it was to go to Santa fe and come back ( $10 only) There are soooooo many homeless people walking outside in front of bus station but make sure to take the ramp up to the back to the train station ( it’s behind all the buildings ) and that area feels safer
