I had such an incredible experience at John Thomas from the moment I walked in to the moment I left. Actually even when I called, the gentleman I talked to was so wonderful despite my awkwardness having no clue about diamonds and custom ring design! Was never condescending or dismissive which had happened to me elsewhere. Everyone who works there is kind, welcoming, and exudes a genuine love for what they do. What I found exceptional was the attention to personal detail regarding my custom order. Every step of the way, from planning, to choosing the band, to setting the diamonds, Christine was engaged and present with me. She listened and even took her time to explain the art and science of diamonds following all of my nerdy questions! She was so personable and genuinely cared about my story and goal for my ring. I came in a bit nervous and overwhelmed, but I left feeling relaxed and confident with my purchase. Then, when I came to pick up my ring, I was blown away by the craftsmanship. I mean, my diamonds were nothing special, but my word! They were just brilliant and my design was executed better than I could have imagined!!! Everyone was just so warm and shared my moment, it felt like a true "mom and pop" experience, which is SO RARE these days. I mostly worked with Christine, and I can not recommend her enough. She shares a true love for stones, not just diamonds, and sees the art. Also, I felt she was so mindful of my budget. Never pressured me to spend money on unnecessary additions and never made me feel less than customers buying higher value items. Speaking of which, they have an incredible, gorgeous selection for every budget and diamond type. They can get busy, though I personally never experienced a significant wait, however they have a small waiting area with beverages and snacks, which is quite nice! Keep in mind they give every customer their undivided, unrushed attention, which is WORTH any wait you could experience. I hope whoever reads this considers John Thomas. Im late with my review (as I am with most things) but I just had to say that Michael from John Thomas was critical in helping me accomplish my dream. I will preface this by saying I am in no way a jeweler but I really wanted to make the engagement ring that I would be proposing with. I researched and researched, and finally took the dive and made it. Now the most critical part was finding a diamond and getting set in the ring. I couldn't find a reliable source for this until a friend highly recommended I talk to Michael at John Thomas. When I did reach out, it was a sigh of relief knowing I found the final piece to this puzzle. Right away they were so helpful and so on board for my unusual request. Even with my practice ring looking like a disaster, they were so nice, and provided so much info to help correct my issues. Then we started the process of finding a stone. I was limited by the size of the setting I had, but Michael had no shortage of options for me. He not only showed me so many diamonds but also taught me what to look for and how to look for it. I was being so picky and Michael never once broke his professionalism during this process. Once we found the stone, I had he official ring finished, they took it in and made my dreams come true. I did not make it easy on their jeweler (as I said Im no professional) but they were able to make it work and overcome all the hurdles with no hesitation. To add on top of all this, I had a very short deadline (see note about always being late) and they STILL managed to make it happen. The ring came out better than I could have ever imagined! John Thomas Jewelers has done it once again! My husband and I moved away from Albuquerque a few years ago. As such, our ability to get into the store on a regular basis is difficult. In our most recent visit I was only in town for a few nights. My husband called John and Michael a few days before our visit to give them a heads up that we would be stopping by to have my ring inspected, cleaned, and re-dipped. John and Michael confirmed that it would not be a problem to get the work completed quickly. As promised, I dropped the ring off on Thursday around lunch and I got a call back a few hours later saying the work was done. When my husband picked up my ring it shined like new. This is not my first positive experience at John Thomas. To be honest, I have never had a bad experience. Dating back to my husband's first visit to the store years ago to pick out my engagement ring, we have always been impressed with the team's friendliness, customer service and expertise. Furthermore, we love the no pressure sales environment. Even though we now live in a city that is larger than Albuquerque with a number of alternative options, my husband and I both agree that John Thomas Jewelers will be first choice for our jewelry needs!
