It's so frustrating not being told what is happening behind the register. I tried returning 3 items from a purchase made my mother in a separate location and the transaction wasn't being found with her phone number. This annoyed me because she just created a reward account and opened a credit card with Express that day. Whatever, system issues happen and it's not the associate's fault. They can't find the receipt, so I'm offered a courtesy exchange amount of $89 for the 3 items. Sounds good, but I'm unable to use it online because the items I wanted in store are sold out in my size. This is even more annoying because there's no way I'm going to use that amount on something that doesn't fit me when I should be easily able to get a merchandise or gift card to have the amount put on or have the items ordered for me in store. After scrambling to find the original receipt of the transaction, the items then come out to a small amount of $30.69. I was going to be offered $89 for not having the receipt whatsoever, but for going above and beyond to get the original receipt only to be given a low balled amount. What made it worse is that the sales rep with green hair didn't tell me what was happening till after everything was completed. I easily could have looked in store to get other items instead of settling for that low of an amount. Based on other people's reviews of this store, the staff does not listen and don't seem to care about letting people know what they're doing till after it's done. The fact that Express has continuously had system errors, glitches in their website and allowing guests to make purchases for items that are not actually available is just icing on top of how poorly ran this company is. The quality of the products are 50/50 anyway, so there's no use in continuing to shop here. I will happily close my credit card with Express and have my mother do the same. I urge everyone to seriously shop at other companies and e-commerce sites to avoid so much...
Read moreI just stopped in to do an exchange pants I purchased online for a separate size. They weren't in store so I told the associate I wanted to return them and have the funds put on a gift card and use that to purchase them online again. Instead, he just returned them to the card on file instead of doing what I asked. And because there is a 5 minute window to void transactions, there was nothing to be done as everything was final. The system at Express never used to be like this since I first opened my credit card years ago. This was annoying, but more so that I wasn't listened to when I was clear about what I wanted to happen. No lines, not busy whatsoever in the store, just associates not being trained properly and/or not paying attention to...
