American Backyard — Attraction in Alpharetta

If there was anything lower than "Poor-Fair" that's what I would use. I went in to the store and had a good enough purchasing experience (of course because they were getting over $1,500 of MY money), but then they botched the delivery and blamed it on ME!

The lady who helped me when purchasing was nice enough, but when it came time for them to arrange delivery of my purchase no one ever called me to set it up. I called them a few days after purchase and was told "someone will get in touch with you." Well, it never happened and as a result they sent some poor delivery guy to my house when I wasn't even home! Sears doesn't even delivery a fridge without calling you ahead of time to set up delivery!!!

When I went by the store to try to resolve the situation the manager asked me if I had missed their calls or had given them the wrong number!!! They clearly had my correct number since it was printed on the invoice, and I had called THEM all week long!...

I am not sure why the other reviews are negative... as I have had very positive experiences at American Backyard! Perhaps the "happy" customers are the ones who never take the time to right a review. At any rate, the sales staff are not aggressive to "sell" as you walk in the front door, but are indeed most helpful, and even very good with design questions when asked. I think it is their perspective not to appear "pushy", but they are certainly kind and friendly. I have bought several pieces and sets from this store through the years and they have assisted me in new purchases, restoration of very old pieces, and in the couple of times I have had an issue with anything, they are very reactive to "make things right". Plus, I am a "shopper", and find that their floor samples, tent sales and other sales offer some great buys. Don't be too quick to listen to the negative... take it from a long time...

If you like the comfort of buying from a reputable company, yet you love the individualized experience you receive from a smaller business relationship, then this is where you should shop. This business is owned by guys who really seem to love what they do, and it shows. I bought my Big Green Egg here. I will buy my next gas logs here for sure. They always recommend what works well, and when there is something that I may be considering that they don't feel that I really need, they tell me. Not only have they sold me many products, they are always there helping me feel confident that I can succeed in using them myself. Honestly, these guys are amazing! It's like having an expert next door neighbor recommending something that works well for them and sharing...
