Very unique piece of local history and information. So much beauty in the architecture of the mansion and the handmade Belgium furniture. The staff/guides we had were informative and passionate about the history of the grounds and family. The 2nd floor hallway was displaying the Italian-Americans and their contributions to blair county then and now.
Our tour guides were great. The building was very busy with other groups of children and it made it hard to maintain students focus during times of other groups moving through the building as well.

The purpose of local historical societies is to collect and curate information on their communities for research and education. This seems to be a task that the curators here are both completely uninterested in doing and wholly unequipped to conduct. Lebanon county’s historical society is far and away superior in form, function, and customer service, and is something this organization epilepsy do well to emulate. A staff member, Harold, gave to us a private tour as we arrived on a day the museum was closed. Such a knowledgeable and personable gentle-man with such deep respect for what makes the Baker Home come alive for visitors. Such a lovely appointed home with rich history of the beginnings of gas heat. A must see home with ever changing and extensive nationality exhibits on the upper floor!
