WHY DOES MY REVIEW KEEP GETTING DELETED?
Coming from a fellow hairstylist, stay away from this place, and most definitely stay away from Brinley for extensions.
I hate to make this review but Iām left with no choice because the owner still has not reached back out to me about a refund.
I initially had Brinley install my weft extensions. The experience was nothing great, tbh. But what Iām most concerned about is the redness, irritation and hair loss/breakage Iāve dealt with since getting them installed. The beads were literally stabbing me, and the install was way too tight.
I came in a few days after and had another stylist, Sylvia check my extensions out. You could tell that she knew they were messed up. She had to completely redo them. Although it did feel better the first day after, the same issues occurred, but this time I had small scabs along with all of the other issues I previously had, and I unfortunately the pain was so unbearable that I had to have my husband take them out for me with his pliers. I was so sad because I wanted to have them for Christmas, and had spent a good amount of money on not only the hair but the service.
Not only did all of this happen, but my natural hair that I was trying to grow out is now much, much shorter, and chewed up looking. I seriously cannot even wear it down anymore because of what these girls did to me.
So I come back in asking for a refund, and Brinley is nothing but attitude and cockiness. Stating she is ā7x certifiedā and that itās not her install, itās my āsensitive scalpā thatās the issue. Even though you stated before the install that if it ever hurts, itās because itās installed improperly...
Hairstylist to hairstylist ā itās OKAY to admit when you mess up, and it takes a good stylist to know when they made a mistake and own up to it. Also, we arenāt talking a misunderstanding with color thatās easily fixable here.. you cause me physical pain, wasted my money, and YOU RUINED MY HAIR.
I think a refund is more than warranted. Learn to set your pride aside!!
Now I might be picky, but Iāve been providing luxury services in salons, and my salon suite for many years now. So I know a thing or two about customer service and how to deal with situations like I had. The prices do not match the work I will be 100% honest.
Also, I still donāt know how they came up with the price of $400 for my install and toner. When I spoke with Kelly on the phone about my refund, she said my install was $150. So are they saying that a toner and blowdry was $250?
That was never cleared up and honestly rubs me the wrong way, because I told Brinley my max budget was $400 and asked her to work around that, and then shes like, okay itāll be $400!! LOL.
Customer service is awful, and Iām honestly disgusted with how this place runs their business.
Mind you, I donāt mind paying for quality work, I first hand know why hair prices are the way they are. I get it. I know extensions are a luxury and they take a lot of knowledge and skill to install, but I did NOT receive quality work.
And for me to be a stylist and leave a review like this, Iām telling you, it was BAD. My scalp is still recovering and still hurts when I pull my hair up.

And they DIDN'T turn out. My eyebrows did not keep the color at all my top eyeliner kept a little bit of color my bottom eyeliner ONLY one eye stayed dark and it wasn't as dark as I wanted and my lips (well let's just say I had color here and there on my lips)... I did not plan on getting it all redone the day I went to the tattoo convention but I just wanted to check it all out and see about getting at least my eyeliner done RIGHT. Because I paid all that money and I was still wearing eyeliner, eyebrow pencil and lipstick. So I met Kelly I asked her to redo my eyeliner, and of course she did I was so happy with my eyeliner that I got her to do my eyebrows and then I was so happy with my eyebrows so I had to do my lips all in one day one after another (Yes she numbs you with a gel) I thought oh my gosh I am going to be in so much pain. Well let me tell you the eyeliner healed instantly, Kelly said it's cause your eyes heal so fast. My eyebrows looked absolutely beautiful from the beginning even clear up until they healed completely. (Mind you for some reason when I got them done the last time when I left the other business ) I looked like Groucho Marx with those big thick eyebrows for days. So when Kelly did them they looked good from the beginning to the end even why healing, and my lips they did swell a little bit they were a little sore but not for very long and they didn't look huge. I could just tell that I had them done. It has been 2 and 1/2 Weeks and I am all healed up and I absolutely love it all and everything that Kelly told me what's going to happen (happened) she told me the color on my lips will fade as it heals and then it will come back and that's exactly what it did. It's a long commute for me to Altoona, but I come to visit family basically every weekend. It happened to be that on the weekend of the 23rd of September there were no availabilities at the hotel I normally stay at. Unfortunately, I scheduled my appointment with my Maura, weeks in advance. She is an exceptional nail artist, and as a result, she was booked out. On Monday, when I found out there were no more availabilities at the hotel I normally stay at, I immediately canceled my Saturday appointment. They explained to me that to schedule agin with her, I would need to make a 70 dollar deposite to schedule with her again. All good! I paid and excitedly awaited my appointment. THEN... Maura left Kellies kreations- October 11th. My second appointment with them wasn't until OCTOBER 21st! I tried to cancle that day because they couldn't provide the stylist we agreed upon, she refused to give me my money back!!! ALMOST 2 WEEKS IN ADVANCE, WHEN THEY WERE INCAPABLE OF PROVIDING THE STYLIST WE AGREED ON THEY REFUSED TO REFUND THE MONEY!!!š¤¦āāļøšš The reputation of the other nail artists there is not exactly what I was looking for, if im being totally honest. That's why I was willing to wait patently for Maura. Sorry Kelly, but I don't go to a restaurant, order felit mignon n say nothing when my waiter brings out a grill cheeze! I scheduled with Maura. She left, and now you're looking to keep my hard earned money? You can't provide the service we had arranged for and agreed upon! I can take this post down right away, but I think it's in your customer's best interest to see how you really do business, so they don't fall into the same trap as I did.
