You just lost another customer to online shopping for good! First time I had been in, in years was around Christmas 2018 I wanted to get my feet measured to ensure I was getting the proper size both length and width wise. I was interested in purchasing some Ariat’s. I was told they don’t do that anymore you just have to try on and see. I asked for them to just bring out a scale was told they don’t even have them in the store. Left with no boots! Went to a local shoe store to get measured and ordered some Durango’s from their website.
Went back 8/5/2019 In desperate need of new boots for work. I was having a hard time deciding the sales person was patient I will give her that but that quickly expired when her manager got involved.
They were having a sale on Ariat casual shoes BOGO 50%off the entire isle had tags stating that. I finally decided on an Ariat tennis shoe and a pair of slides the ones I liked most they did not have in my size I asked if they could order them. The manager was not happy placing the order and kind of acted like the sales lady should have pushed the ones they had in stock on me more. I also found a pair of Twisted X boots I needed for work that day that were on sale for $10 off $109.99. So I was about pay for 3 pairs of boots/shoes. I had been eyeing a pair of black boots as well I jokingly told the mgr since they were having such great sales could I get him to give me the sale price on the black boots when I came back in a week to pick up the slides that were ordered? I was asked to wait he went and looked at the tag on the black boots then to the Ariat casual shoes. I thought that was weird. So he comes back and tells me the tennis shoes were not part of the bogo. I said ok what’s the final cost for all 3 nearly $300 ok so I pulled a coupon out of my wallet from The BIG Texan for 10% off my purchase. I was then told if I were to use that coupon I would also loose the sale price for the Twisted X boots of $10 off. At that point I should have walked out of the store with nothing. That’s like saying we are having a sale on gas but if you have a discount card you don’t get sale prices. Bias and slightly prejudice if I do say so! I work hard for my $ just like everyone else. With in a weeks time I would have spent over $600 on 4pairs of foot wear in this store. Come Christmas my 4 sons and husband would be due new boots. They have lost my business for good over $30 for a...
Read moreAll about commission not customer service. We stopped in to do some boot shopping for my husband. My husband tried on probably 15 different boots, they do have a great selection. We asked the salesman for some help finding a pair for my husband's foot shape. The only recommendation he gave was for some Anderson Beans that fit well but the stitching above the front toe was crooked and way off to one side, my husband pointed it out to the salesman and asked if they had another pair, to which the salesman responded that he also noticed it was crooked and said they didn't have another pair he'd ask his manager what he thought and took the boots to his manager. He returned and without saying anything just put the boot back on the shelf, I guess they decided they'd just sell them to someone who didn't notice how crooked and off the stitching was. Meanwhile whiles browsing the women's clothes I encountered two employees complaining about another employee "stealing" their customers for commission, but neither offered me any assistance. We decided to go check out American Boot Company, just across the interstate. We were blown away by our experience. The owner, who hand makes all of the boots spent close to an hour helping my husband find the right boots for his feet, even after finding boots my husband liked he wanted to make sure that he tried on all the options so he was getting the best possible boots. We ended up saving close to $150 compared to the Anderson Beans and the boots felt better and were flawless in appearance. So I guess Cavendars helped us find a new place to buy boots for the...
Read moreThis place has a great selection, and decent prices. There is one, and only one, thing I don't like about this place -- the way the sales people get paid. They're obviously on commission. I had a couple sales guys stop by while I was looking asking me if I needed any help -- but I was good... just window shopping until I found something I wanted to try on. One sales guy was helpful and showed me how they shelved their sizes, which made my selection go much faster. I like those sales guys because they weren't pushy, even though they got paid commission (I didn't realize it at the time). So, I found my boots and walked up to the front counter... as I approached a cash register a younger sales guy came up to me and said "let me help you with those" and he literally took the boots out of my hands -- right before I set them on the counter -- and he set them on the counter for me and then wrote up a ticket. In other words -- he was just being a chickenhawk at the front counter snagging up everyone who didn't have a sales guy attached to them and claiming all the commissions. I absolutely HATE THIS practice. Management may think that commission sales helps to motivate sales guys -- but it often times turns them into pushy people you don't want to be around, or it brings out the super lazy, like the chickenhawk fool who wasn't helping anyone out but was collecting a lot in commission. Management should consider changing how they reward sales guys. Otherwise, this is a great place... just make sure the sales guy who helped you most gets credit for...
