I JUST HAD THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD.
I just had the worst customer service I've ever had with any business with a situation that could've easy been avoided by a little effort from an employee.
I called the store to verify that they had a specific type of water heater compatible with my chicken feeder. The (over-phone) employee confirmed that they had a shipment come in. To double check, I asked a few followup questions. She confirmed that the kind I was looking for was "definitely in stock".
I drove 40 minutes to the store to grab one. When I arrived, I couldn't find the water heater. Asking an (in-store) employee for help, I explained what I was looking for and she explained that they didn't have any in stock and that their shipment was backordered indefinitely a couple days ago.
When I asked who covered the phones, the (in-store) employee said it was the cashiers. She also said she thinks she knows who it was and that she has had issues with that employee from the start.
Not only did the (over the phone) employee blatantly lie to me multiple times when I tried to verify the product was in stock. But, from the (in-store) employee's lack of care in response to knowing which cashier was responsible showed me the low standard this IFA location has for their employees and customer service.

Read moreI've been going to IFA for many years for feed, bedding, plants, seeds and more recently, bees. This year they sold me a five frame Nuc (almost $200.00) that was supposed to have an established hive. When I pried open the top of the crate to populate my hive, I noticed there was some damage and when I pulled out the frames, it was obvious that at least half of the bees were gone. I called and emailed them and got no response. On about the third call I finally connected with someone. IFA acknowledged that quite a few customers had received damaged boxes but they refused to do anything to replace the hive and wouldn't discount the price, even though more than half the bees had escaped. I know that all businesses mess up occasionally and I judge them based on how they respond to those mistakes. IFA, you really blew it on this one. I thought you were a stand up company.
Edit: Apparently there was some miscommunication between employees and management on this problem. They corrected what went wrong in a very professional and satisfactory way. Read moreI am very frustrated and disappointed by with my experience with the American fork ifa. I recently went to return a hat that I bought from another ifa location. The cashier didn’t know how to make the return so she called over her manager to help her with it. This manager looked in her system and couldn’t find the transaction of the hat I had purchased, and she returned and stated “I can’t find this hat in my system so this hat is mine”. I realized she accused me of stealing, and later in our conversation she said “I am going to assume you walked out with this and it is mine”. I am frustrated because instead of asking more questions to clarify the issue, she accused me of stealing from the store. I felt that the way I was treated was wrong and very innapropriate for the situation. After being adamant that I didn’t steal the hat she looked in the system one more time and found my transaction. She handed the paper copy to the cashier and let her help me without saying anything else or apologizing for her accusations.
