I recently moved from Corona to Anaheim. Coming from the Corona location where its well maintained and is clean I was expecting the same thing in Anaheim Chuze. What a disappointment! Walking in it doesn’t seem bad.. front desk workers greet you, I go into the locker room to store my stuff, go do a workout class, check out the sauna - which isn’t as hot where in corona was upgraded to a dry sauna so you don’t have to sit forever to build a sweat, you go in and 20 mins you’re good. Anaheim Sauna- As soon as you’re building a slow sweat someone opens the door and all that progress is gone! Now it’s time to leave so decide to shower there. Give it a try I start getting a weird smell while in the shower, smells like someone spread feces around the shower. I try to get out quickly because the smell just doesn’t go away. I’m seeing rust and spots where it’s not clean. It’s just gross! I tell myself maybe someone left it nasty and I just got a bad shower stall. I let it go. Keep in mind I do not see any employees clean anything during my visit. Comparing to Corona where every 15-20-30 mins they literally clean EVERY area! I let it go thinking okay, maybe it’s really busy, they might be short staff, etc.. whatever.. The next time I return I do the same routine giving the gym another try.. time comes to shower so I try the bigger stall. Even WORSE!! The smell comes back! Is it the pipes? Idk. Everything around the shower handle and heads are rusted and look disgusting. At this point I’m unsure to finish my shower because it’s so bad but I do it. I get out and go into the changing rooms waiting for a worker to come to inform them about the stalls or give feed back but NO ONE comes during the hr I spend in the area. While walking out the gym I tell someone in the front desk my concert and they tell me “yeah they are old” referring to the showers. WHAT!! It’s unbelievable to me because I was going to Chuze in Corona for years where I NEVER had a complaint. To getting brushed of in Anaheim Chuze. Management has to do a better job keeping track of this issue because being old doesn’t mean it should smell like that when other locations have it spotless even tho it’s an older gym. Beware showing here as you might pick up bacteria and infections. Idk why they don't have people cleaning often but a gym should be clean. I never experienced the smell of feces like at Anaheim Chuze. I was under the impression Chuze was the cleanest gym around. However, I was wrong. They need to follow Corona Chuze Cleaning practices. They are not even 10% near them. It’s a shame!! Anaheim Chuze do better. Much MORE better. Considering changing gym because this location is...
Read moreI have been on the trial 7 days free. There are more cons than pros.
Cons: *Location is dirty and make sure you don’t leave anything important in your car. They do have “security” but that is never guarantee. *If you go around 4pm-7pm during the weekdays it’s hard to get on any machines. *People who attend the gym do not know gym manners. When I ask when they are done there are some people who will take longer just because they know I am waiting and others are waiting too. This is extremely rude (especially the cable area). *Machines are always broken (the important ones; most popular ones). *Not enough wipe stations to wipe down the machines and equipment. The trash of wipes are always overflowing. *Some of the workers aren’t friendly. *Parking during “busy hours” are hard to find. Circle around and around from parking or waiting more than you want to for parking. *Not enough cable stations and attachments it’s forever to wait when a group of 2-6 guys are taking one cable stable station taking turns or other areas where a group of 2+ are using an area. I have been to gyms when they actual offer to take turns or say I’ll be done in 5-10 mins etc. People who work out here are rude.
Pros: *Weekends are better time to go but I want to go after work too (buts it stresses me out to come to this gym). “How packed is it”? *Price is affordable and they have a special at the moment. *Some of the staff are welcoming and helpful. *Plenty of Cardio. But I suggest to take some of the cardio and put another cable station.
My overall experience is I’m not buying a monthly membership after the 7 days trial. I would give this gym a try if you live super close. But if you don’t find another gym membership where you feel safe, and it’s not super crowded and the people have better...
Read moreI’ve been a more membership at this gym and generally appreciate the facilities, but I’ve had some frustrating experiences with the front desk staff that I feel need to be addressed.
On multiple occasions, I’ve noticed what seems like inconsistent enforcement of the check-in policy—particularly when it involves me or my workout partner, who is Asian and part of the LGBT community. For example, my buddy once scanned in but had to briefly return to his car. When he came back just a few minutes later, the staff insisted that he scan in again “for security reasons,” even though he had clearly seen him walk out. (he said i know you just left but you had to scan again) I had to interrupt my workout to go scan check in for him in again.
In another instance, I was already checkin but my buddy came in later so i had to walk to the front desk to do buddy pass check in, and even though the staff had just seen me walk out from inside gym area, they required me to scan check in again for security reasons. Meanwhile, I’ve observed other members entering without scanning or being questioned. In the same day and same staff guy I ordered a smoothie after my workout, and despite ordering before another customer, I was made to wait nearly 30 mins while their order was prioritized. It felt intentional and petty, and only added to a growing pattern of unprofessional and possibly biased behavior.
I fully support the need for security and policy enforcement, but what’s troubling is the lack of consistency—and who these rules seem to apply to. It’s disappointing to feel singled out, especially when others are not held to the same standard.
I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and works with the staff to ensure policies are applied fairly and...
