RUDE, RUDE, RUDE and offensive employee. I swung by a bit before 4 this afternoon. As I passed the clerks behind the counter, one informed me that they'd be closing in five minutes. I thanked her. Her co-worker, a woman with short black hair in a red suit loudly followed with "Actually, it's four minutes, no three and a half." She got the attention of everyone else in the store- clerks and about five customers.
I responded, far more quietly than she, that I had understood her co-worker and wouldn't stay, I asked why she needed to do that. She responded that far too many stayed well after closing and continued to defend her offensive behavior. I headed for the door (it was before 4), several other customers were still in the store a couple told me they'd also experienced the same treatment.
I had never been here before. I had no idea they were about to close. One of the others told me as I was leaving that they"d reopen tomorrow at 10. I told her it wasn't an issue as I had no intention of returning.
I gave one star for her long-suffering co-workers who had to deal with that harridan daily. Tok bad, it seems nice and there were a couple pieces that...
Read moreThis is hands down my favorite thrift store (which says a lot, considering I moved from a big city and thrift regularly). I almost never leave without finding something great. The clothes are high quality and the prices are unbeatable. The volunteers here are always so kind and lovely.
Some people complain about the clip system used to limit shoppers, especially now that COVID restrictions have eased. But honestly, businesses can set whatever rules they chooseâjust like you wouldn't complain about waiting for a table at a crowded restaurant, a thrift store is no different.
In fact, itâs a thoughtful way to ensure the store doesnât get overcrowded. Itâs a small space, and without this system, it would get way too packed, making it uncomfortable for everyone. Nobody likes shopping when it's cramped, especially in a cozy, local shop like this.
If youâre asked to wait, itâs really not a big deal. Iâve never waited more than 10-15 minutes, and itâs totally worth it. Plus, the staff are all volunteers, so showing a little patience and kindness...
Read moreI did not look at the selection of clothing that they had, but they seemed to have a good selective of books. But while I was looking one of the volunteers came up to me and asked(kinda rudely) if I was buying anything because they closed at 4. I apologized for staying past close and then looked at my watch expecting it to be 4:15-4:30 and I see that it had literally just turned 4. Although I do understand that it's frustrating when people stay past close, there's really no need to rudely go around the store asking everyone if they're buying things RIGHT when you close. I had never been there before and I was very impressed with how clean the store looked, but I will not be back due to the lack of good...
