Banneker-Douglass-Tubman Museum — Attraction in Annapolis

My husband planned a wonderful and memorable birthday celebration for me which included tours of African American sites in Annapolis. One tour was this incredible museum. What made the experience memorable was the private tour led by Mr. LeRonn Herbert, a member of the administrative team at the museum. His enthusiasm, knowledge, and expertise were impeccable. Great place and friendly staff. I love learning about history and to compare then and know is mindblowing. To see history and hear dialogue from the people in that time is moving. We as a people have to remember that are ancestors worked together to fight for what is right, no matter of skin color. My oldest daughter was moved to see and hear of all the wrongs that actually took place. We read about them and I tell her that yes things are still happening, but people of all shades stood up for what's just then and now. Small museum that does a great job introducing the long and continuing journey for African American civil rights in Maryland. There is a beautiful stained glass created from broken pieces of original stained glass from the church building there that was the start of the museum.
