I was very dissapointed with the tour. I had read the reviews which were all great and was excited to book this for the family as an excursion to end the birthday party of my oldest. Boy, what a bummer, while the information imparted was great, our guide, Joe, was very boring and long winded taking forever to get to the point, excrutiatingly so, it was horrible! I did get to see parts of Annapolis that I hadn’t seen before but we were there to be entertained and were bored out of our minds. Also, the website infers that you will be in a position to use ghost hunting equipment at some point, encouraging you to bring what you had. My oldest and I were paranormal investigators with a group for a few years and I brought with me a tape recorder. You don’t go into any buildings, the guide just stops outside and gives a story about in part the building and something that happend there. Was irritated because I stopped special to get fresh batteries and never had an opportunity to use it. This is an honest review, it blew, Joe was our guide, nice but boring, would look down and around while telling the story, never engaging and was easily distracted and overly detailed about EVERYTHING! Not happy!! and ruined our Birthday...
Read moreI never grew out of my “Goosebumps” phase. As someone who delights in all things spooky, my favorite way to explore a city is through learning its lore. My husband was initially what those in the industry call a “drag-along” (there to be a supportive partner, but wouldn’t have picked this experience on his own), but became absolutely enthralled as the tour went on, really enjoying being able to delve into the history. It’s now a regular date night for us.
This tour is our favorite ghost tour (we have been on many, in several cities), and we can’t recommend it enough—it’s absolutely the most fun way to spend an evening in Annapolis. Whether you choose a “regular” ghost tour or a twisted history pub crawl, we can’t recommend this experience enough. As “regulars” now, we’re always looking forward to our next one!
We always try to snag a spot on Melissa’s tours; she is our favorite tour guide and so knowledgeable about the town’s history — and also just an awesome person! That said, you can’t go wrong with any of her fellow tour guides. Book it now—you’ll have a blast and be planning to your next tour as soon as your...
Read moreI love walking tours, history tours and ghost tours having done them in cities all over the world. It's a great way to learn about people, places and the stories we choose to pass on.
Unfortunately the tour from Cal was a genuine struggle to get through. We completed the tour, but mainly just to be polite as after a rough start it never improved.
I'm not sure if the guide was very new , or just having a really bad night. It felt like they simply didn't remember the details, or perhaps thought their retelling was more captivating. Sadly it wasn't.
There was a distinct lack of history throughout and clear inaccuracies, which made the stories difficult to connect with. After getting home we read about the buildings, people and stories touched on and it's a genuine shame as there's such a wealth of history within the city that could have been included.
I'm not sure how this compares with the usual tour, but for us this was a real...
