Street parking in Annapolis has become impossible, or at least not worth your while. I've been living here for over 20 years and I don't bother going downtown anymore for lunch, even on a weekday out of season. City of Annapolis has out-sourced parking to a 3rd-party profiteer, which is locking down the entire Historic District. Now there's parking to pay for on every single street at at all hours. The enforcer enforces 24-hour hourly tow-away surveillance of Parking-Paid-by-App for 2 hours only. Historic Annapolis is now a parking police state. Well, I'm not interested in uploading my financial info to a 3rd-party cloud just for a burger and beer.
After some visiting cousins and I got through the BORING walking tour of the Historic District by the Drone in colonial dress, there wasn't time enough to walk around the harbor before our parking expired. Tonight, to park free for a nightcap dowtown, I had to duck into a private parking lot a quarter mile away from the lone nearby bar opened past 10pm, which Historic establishment sent us home at 11:15pm, even though Web posts their hours until midnight. I guess Cinderalla ain't welcome in old Annapolis anymore, if she ain't spending like a princess should. You know, Cinderella, I don't think it's really worth your while anyway. See if your prince can't find you some sensible shoes...

Read moreVery nice old city, many original houses. The Main Street has many local shops and restaurants. The harbour near the city center is nice too. I love this city! The only problem is the parking: maximum two hours in the parking near the harbour. There are a few parking garages (one is behind the visitor center in West Street), they can be full on Sundays. I didn't see these parking garages clearly indicated. Free parking near 7-Eleven at 611 Taylor avenue, 1.0 mile from the center...
