Graduate by Hilton Annapolis is a really nice hotel to stay at. It's located in downtown Annapolis, so you don't have to worry about driving around. You can literally walk around downtown Annapolis and find a lot of places to go to and some great places to eat.
The hotel itself is beautiful. The staff when I was there were very helpful, and I loved being able to have conversations with them.
My room was phenomenal. I had a king suite, and I was not disappointed at all by that suite. It was beautiful and so incredibly spacious. I think that for the $350 plus price point, it's worth it. My room included a dining area, a full size living room complete with a pullout sofa and a television with a great view to downtown. It also had the room that is separate, and it has doors that will close off the room from the living room. This suite has 2 different ways of entry-exit, so you have 2 doors at the opposite end of the suite. The bathroom was nothing to write home about. It was a basic bathroom, so that didn't really impress me.
The one thing that I didn't really like is the lighting. Most of the lighting is provided by lamps. I would have preferred that there'd be some overhead light, but... it's still an overall good experience.
The hotel says that there are 2 restaurants on-site, but in reality, there's one restaurant. It's called the Trophy Room, and there is a little nook, that's called Poindexter, and that is something that you would use for getting breakfast. The trophy room is like your run of the mill restaurant. You don't have to worry about getting dressed up for it. It's not fancy, nor does it doesn't have a very vast choice when it comes to food. The prices can be a little high for what you're ordering. For example, I ordered a steak and cheese sandwich and it cost $17.
I also went to the Poindexter for breakfast. And I was highly disappointed because their food is crazy expensive and it's basic food. I ordered a $5 cappuccino and what I really got was overly hot coffee with no flavor and no kind of body to it in a cardboard cup. I recommend that if you're going to have breakfast at Graduate, then just wait until brunch time and go to the trophy room. Otherwise there are plenty of places you can go have breakfast or brunch at downtown. Also, the staff for the Poindexter were quite rude and very off-putting.

Read moreMy husband made reservations to this hotel for Valentines Day. I cannot say the service was the best. I’ve stayed at other places for much less and received five star treatment. The receptions working that evening was not the friendliest nor did they care to explain what was available to us such as amenities deposit fees. Check in was rather quick, but not friendly. Not sure if it had to do with the color of our skin, but for sure as being almost the only black couple in that hotel we were not definitely welcomed both by the receptionist and guests. Javier the parking attendant was the ONLY friendly and welcoming staff at the graduate. He remembered my husbands name, he was very polite and inviting. He made us feel welcomed 🙂 asked how was our stay. We did not get that from the receptionist. No one said anything to us out the ordinary, but we felt the energy of not being welcomed because we were black. Which now brings me to the black bartender at the restaurant with the dreads. I gravitated to him as though he would likely serve us with a pleasantry welcome. That was negative, to only be ignored for a good 15 minutes until he was told by a woman bartender if he could serve us. I ordered my food and still tipped the bartender despite his rudeness to acknowledge that black people do tip too. After waiting and trying to grab his attention to take the signed receipt he ignored me and I ended up giving the receipt to the female bartender. I felt uncomfortable and decided to go upstairs while my husband wait for our food. While waiting my husband was also ignored again by this same male bartender. Guests at the hotel gotten off an elevator as my husband entered assuming as though “they will not feel safe” with him on the elevator. The experience was not welcoming at all although it was educational from the secret clues in the room. Having to have a copy of Jimmy Carter’s ID on our entry card and Lydia Polgreen Chief Editor of Huffington Post. The room was a pleasant detailed with little clues. The pillows was too soft and we had no microwave. Inclusion should be implemented in this hotel, diversity is important since we are in an era that is constantly about race, money, status, and exclusion. All should feel welcomed regardless of their background. If they have the money to spend they should be treated equally. If you know better you...
Read moreI stayed here in March for my 3 year anniversary with my Girlfriend. TDLR; don't waste your time here. Less than experienced and rude front desk. Musty and damp rooms, apathetic management team. Paying 4 star price for 3 star experience. If you are looking for a higher end stay, your best bet is inner harbor in Baltimore.
I booked a standard King Size bed through expedia and was excited to get out of DC for the weekend. I received a call as I was 10 minutes away from the hotel, but I missed it as I was driving. I assumed this was a welcome call? No idea. When I pulled up to the hotel to check in- I was told that they no longer had any of the king beds which I had reserved, the only other accommodations they had for us were two full size mattresses (I assume this is why they called). I explained that it was my anniversary and the purpose of my stay. I was offered a very unapologetic "sorry" from the front desk. Management seemed inexperienced, and less than seasoned in the hospitality industry as they were rude and less then accommodating. They offered nothing to make up for it, they told me I could walk for a full refund, or accept a downgrade to two full size beds. I had to forcibly barter on the room rate after THEIR mishap (they clearly did not care), and they offered a free bottle of wine and snacks delivered to the room which was promised within the hour. I budged and accepted their offer as I had already traveled all this way to the property and I'd be saving a bit of money. Rooms were musty smelling and damp. Honestly, had I not seen the four star rating, I would have assumed it was a three star. Fast forward 3 hours, as I left to dinner - I had to remind the front desk that they had promised snacks and free drink. I felt very weird asking for something that was free, but it was promised. They had forgotten, obviously, further adding to my frustration. I will certainly not return to this property, and if I were you - if you are considering it for leisure - I would stay away too. Your better off staying in Baltimore and spending the day/night...
