What a great hole in the wall! It's a shoe-box shoe-horned in next to Ram's Head Tavern on Main St. But the coffee outdoes all the coporate rivals around town, no doubt because of the bright-eyed barrista-owner, Claudia. You taste her ownership in her brewing. In fact, you feel her personal investment in her whole cafe. It feels like you've been invited into her breakfast nook; and the sandwiches look like she got them ready for you this morning; and the delicious pastries from Hawthorne Fine Breakfast Pastry in Severna Park show her own good taste. They taste European, and Claudia looks European, but she in fact hails from Brazil, which makes sense not only of her accent, but also of her skill at making a cup of coffee. Turns out that's South American know-how. Cafe Ole seems mostly like a local spot for regulars on foot, en route to work or on a lunch break, because parking downtown is all the more miserable since Townhall outsourced parking to a third-party profiteer. But if you find yourself on foot downtown, I encourage you to hoof it over to Cafe Ole. Keep an eye out, or you're liable to miss it. It has one table inside and one outside, so you may not find a seat.
