Popped into the new Arl Center store not even realizing it was open, the overhead sign goes up soon. It's gorgeous, so welcoming, warm and great people working/ hanging there. Open knit sessions Weds eves and Sundays, kid-friendly, classes, supplies, and just IDEAL spot for community. It's so WARM and their stock is amazing. Selling custom made pieces and how-to books too. I will def. be going back, especially with my littles. What a GREAT concept for a store/ space.

This place is so great for the neighborhood and local crafting community (and less great for my financial self control but oh well). Since first going into the store a few weeks ago, I’ve come by almost 2-3 times a week. The selection is fantastic and the prices affordable. The staff is also so lovely and down to answer my many questions about knitting and different types of yarn. I’m thrilled to have Minds Eye Yarn in my neighborhood.

Lovely small local yarn store that is packed full of delightful yarn any knitter would love to explore. I went in looking for yarn to complete a comissioned sweater and the staff member suggested I use two strands of sock yarn held together to tie in the colors of the sweater and get the correct thickness of yarn - brilliant! And they did have the perfect yarn, Painted Sock in Samoa Sunset and Golden Gate.

I recommend this yarn shop highly as the owner Annie has been so kind and helpful to all customers. I was a customer and took classes when the shop was located in Porter Square a number of years ago and when I first met Annie. If you visit the shop, you will be happy you stopped by.

As far as their classes, I would encourage those anxious to learn new patterns to try other shops. The store is still fairly new to the Arlington Center and I believe they should hire someone who is more dedicated to teaching patterns in a patient manner and not embarrassing them in class.

The women I met in the 4:30- 6:30 class are absolutely a joy to be with. They are full of life and laughter and I will miss them as well as Annie.

The classes are reasonably priced at $120 for 6 classes. Just make sure if there are cancelations due to weather or personal obligations they are made up before joining for 6 more. There are sometimes errors made. February 17th and March 17 were not credited. Monday, April 21st is the beginning of the next set of classes so I decided to not return after careful consideration.

There is still vacancy for 7-9pm classes.

My 3 stars are for Annie and the women in the class.

I wish her the very best success in her shop. It's...

So for a little bit of background, I had bought 2 skeins of the kfi collections yarn for a project I was working on, but predictable, I ran out. I wasn't able to find any yarn in the same dye color at the store i initially bought it in and had to look for it online. Not only did this store have the exact yarn I needed at a cheaper price, but I also found more yarn that I wanted, had the shipping fee waived, and it got it delivered to me very quickly despite me being several states away. I want to thank not only Minds eye yarn, but also Annie who left me a personal message with my delivery! I will definitely be getting my yarn from here again when I inevitably run...

It's smaller than a lot of other yarn stores, and can feel cramped at times, but it's a lovely little yarn store. They have a great selection of Plymouth yarns, but you can find Malabrigo and just so many smaller dyers. The button selection is nice as well. During the annual Greater Boston Yarn Crawl they offer grab bags of mystery yarn and you always get amazing yarn for a low low price. This is also one of the places I first bought a JessaLu project bag. If you're visiting the Boston area as a knitter, this is a must-see and their close proximity to the Red line makes it that...
