TLDR; Attitude, outdated or improperly configured POS system, no manager on duty.
I went to the store to find a few DVD's and Blu Rays, saw a sign that said buy 10 get 10 off cool good deal, I find what I want and go to checkout and the cashier was checking me out without issue (but every single discounted/clearance disk had to be manually changed like why dont you make the label that says the discounted price just scan at the register like you did for the normal price? it's all used disks with individual pricing anyway.)
Then she finished and sayd the total I said "are you sure thats right?" she said yes all discounts have been applied so I said okay and paid, On the way to the car I read the receipt and the $10 never was applied so I go right back inside and let her know, She says "Oh you didnt remind me" like ya I did you said all discounts were applied, and she said she doesn't know what to do and that there's no manager on duty and that she needs to ask the person next to her whos on the phone so she waits 10 seconds then gives up and tells me that she can give me a $10 off coupon I said I got what I wanted and would rather have a refund and she says something along the lines of 'you can get other stuff' and I said "no offence but I got everything I wanted to buy here and dont plan on coming back anytime soon" then she huffed and said she would need my ID to do the refund for some reason which I did not have on me.
Got my ID came back like 20 min later and the person who checked me out passed me onto someone else, everything had to then be explained to them then she had no clue what to do so she called someone (I guess the manager?) who told her refund and re-check out or 2 $5 off coupons and she huffed and had an attitude when I said I would rather have the refund. Got to the checkout for the 2nd transaction and I said "Are you sure that totals right?" they said yes I said "I dont see how its right because that total is not $10 less than my original purchase" I was told "well you can check your receipt" with an attitude which is stupid because anyone could tell that if the new price is not $10 less (or more with tax) than the original price then something's wrong and it's easier to fix before we check out.
I pay cash because I know their going to mess it up just from the totals then take my receipt off to the side and check it, I find the movie that was not discounted correctly (remember that having to manually enter the price for some reason even though you have a scanning POS system?) I give them the receipt and the incorrect item and they let out a big huff and have an attitude like im sorry you have to do more work but I gave you a chance to fix it and you said to check my receipt, Then instead of actually doing the whole process they give up part way through and just open the register and just took out the cash (that the wrong move because you messed up the totals and the tax) but I was done arguing at that point and just took it.
I get you might be a more relaxed atmosphere but thats abysmal customer service, and the dumb part is if you had a halfway modern/ properly configured POS system this never would have been an issue; I saw like 5 different signs for different deals, your telling me that your cashiers have to remember all the deals and the conditions for them and manually apply them instead of just putting them in your POS system with manual overrides if needs be? its 2024 this was solved like 15+ years ago and a buy 10 get $10 off deal is one of the easiest things to program into a POS system.
Customer service issues aside I won't recommend them until you fix your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThey send out texts / emails about "Big Sales".....but I couldn't find anything that was on any of those "Sales". Used Items were mostly on those sales. Out of ALL Nintendo Switch Games, there was only ONE used one (Fire Emblem = $55 used) and & probably 40 new ones. I still couldn't prove they were new because all they had were the cases out of course but all the games were behind the counter so they could have been used and just marked as new. Who knows? Had a decent selection of older games but they still were not very cheap. Atari games might be old enough to be considered "Vintage", but I was shocked that they were all about $5 each, some much more. I was just looking for Nintendo games though. Had a pretty good selection of Wii Games, but any game that WAS remotely popular YEARS AGO was still $30-$40....for a WII GAME! They had ZERO Amiibo....I even asked cuz I thought I just wasn't finding them. Everything was just VERY overpriced & VERY unorganized. If you wanted to get on any of their sales, you needed to be prepared to spend about $50. Most were "Buy 2, Get 1 Free". You can leave GameStop with a whole bag of the same games that you'd find @ MTC for the price of 3 games on one of their little "sales" there! Way too expensive. Look online first and try eBay for any of the "Vintage" stuff. On the other hand, I guess it's a good place if you're one of those people that still buy...

Tried to do the simple exchange and the guy is telling me I can't return it cause the seal was broken. Well there was no seal to break in the first place, so I explained that to him. Then he says I brought the wrong reciept, well I have only bought once from them so it definately wasnt the wrong reciept. Then after 10 min or more of him just pressing buttons on the computer, the Manger tells him to just give me the correct product and call it a day. There was other stupidity coming out of the managers mouth to prevent the exchange which I don't care anymore to speak about. It was a $3 product, and the guy acts like I'm going to rob the place for all its worth, when in reality the problem originated with their employees not making sure the products are on the right hook. Not to mention I'm just trying to do a simple exchange. Imagine if I had to...
