So long, Diho Market. Hello, Pioneer Cash & Carry!

Driving west on 183rd, our eyes spied a bunch of canopies in front of the new Pioneer Cash & Carry. Seeing the crowds and knowing the supermarket was soon to open, relocating from a smaller venue on Pioneer Blvd., we made a quick left and fought for a scarce parking spot during the busy Grand Opening.

Outside, various vendors gave out samples of Indian foodstuffs such as tea, cookies, sweets like gulab jamun and some hearty dishes. I availed myself of one or five too many gulab jamun, along with practically everything else. For a free frozen package of plain naan, customers just had to show their receipt.

Inside, a spacious layout greets all those who shop at Pioneer Cash & Carry The supermarket is undergoing a soft Grand Opening, so not all items had price tags nearby, such as the dairy section and the bags of rice. All the aisles were easy to decipher & maneuver through. I marveled at the various sizes of ghee & the bagged beans.

The produce section on the left had produce that was fresh & competitively-priced. We managed to score some ginger that was on sale.

On the right of Pioneer Cash & Carry, a bakery selling fresh roti & other grain products will service those looking for them. Unfortunately, it wasn't up & running at this time, but I'm sure it will be sooner, rather than later.

Service was good. All the cashiers were wearing colorful sari's. I'm not sure if that's just for the Grand Opening, but I enjoyed the beautiful colors on display. All purchases were bagged in complimentary Pioneer Cash & Carry reusable bags. Located directly across the Artesia post office, Pioneer Cash & Carry has parking via a private lot, with more parking in front of Kim Tar and the shopping center by the bank next door.

Here's to spacious shopping experiences! Pioneer Cash & Carry is an open, user-friendly Indian supermarket that has a lot to offer the community. From the fresh bakery to the frozen food section, every niche of Indian cuisine is serviced here. Having a Grand Opening which offered complimentary food for those fortunate enough to attend, I foresee Pioneer Cash & Carry having a successful relocation to a more expansive building with free...

Sorry people I was so much like this store until today. my wife shoped today while I was picking up the dinner. my wife called me to come to the pioneer cash n carry store ,place where we buys our groceries every weeek. When i tried to enter , it was near closing I talked to the guard ,told that my wife is inside.then,he let me enter the store. After I entered to the store , my wife called me that she checked out the groceries. Since I was in the store , my wife asked me to buy 2 bags of rice. So I picked up rice and some other Items we needed. Store closed few people in the store. i walked to the register to pay . Then, this fat women supposed to be a "boss lady" questioned me wheres your wife ? I said she was inside but she checked out n went now she is in the car with kids. Then this #"fat batch" told me "no you're lying bring your wife to the store" other wise, You will not get checked out the groceries I am about to pay. I felt so angry at this women the way she understood what I am doing in the store. She showed her stupidity at me . I thought not to buy anything from this store This batch need some therapy n good customer service education. what is this? This is a store ? Or a courthouse ? I recommend that they need to installed a lie detector in the...

I came shopping here as I typically do. I first went to the smaller store and the store is a mess. It's very disorganized and short staffed. It's ridiculous. Then I went to this store to hopefully find what I was looking for since the small store didn't have it. Unfortunately this store has always had terrible customer service and not the best employees. I ask a woman about a product, they apparently don't understand me, then they say they will be asking for help and they never come back leaving me waiting for a very long time for nothing. Not even Walmart has such terrible customer service like here. Walmart employees are even more helpful despite being short staffed too. Here at Pioneer, the employees say they'll bring out more vegetables and they don't and the women in the aisles are very rude and unhelpful. Whoever is in charge of the personel here needs to do a better job teaching and training...

BUYER BEWARE!!! When you make a purchase here check your receipts. They do overcharge you from what the price is on the shelf. I have worked in retail so I know the law. The business has to honor the price even if the description is different when the whole shelf is full of that product. Basically that is not a mistake. The people kept trying to justify it by saying we just new merch and we are just filling it all up. If that is the case you need to remove the wrong tag. After all that still refused to honor the price. There were a lot of items that had the same issue. Have filed a complaint with weights and measures and good luck trying to explain it to them by giving excuses. Typical Indian business that does care about their customers especially when they think there is no one that can compete with them.

Very good selection of Indian groceries, well organized, clean, and spacious. Produce seems fresh, but I felt the selection of vegetables could be a bit better. I'm no expert on South Asian staples so I won't comment on the prices there, but the produce prices are really good. It would be nice if there was a bit more parking (it's a sizeable lot, but I had trouble getting a space at 1 pm on a weekday). 11 am seems pretty late for a grocery store to open, so that's less than ideal as well. Overall it's a lot more convenient than the old location down the block though, which could sometimes be hard to move around in because of how cramped and crowded it could be.

If you’re and Indian food lover AND vegetarian, this store is for you ! This is one of if not the only supermarket that exclusively sells South Asian items in the greater LA area. It operates similarly to other South Asian market chains in the country. When I got there it was extremely crowded, even more so than a costco. They also only sell vegetarian items, which I only notice on my second visit. Other than that, there’s a bakery that sells eggless desserts. Overall a good place to make South Asian food, but I would like it better if there’s a selection of non-vegetarian foods
