I really recommend visiting the Asbury Park Beach off of 1st or 2nd Avenue during the summer. Weekday prices to visit the beach are reasonable and you can purchase an ticket the day of online or at kiosks on the boardwalk. The weekday chair and umbrella rentals are reasonably priced but they...

The worst beach I've ever seen! $40 for parking and $20 for the beach entrance, for what, just to wet your feet? Safeguard doesn't really let you swim, secondly, there's no shower, and no toilet nearby, plus my son caught the Coxsackie virus. This was our last visit...
