Asheboro Mall holds a special place in my heart, conjuring memories of cherished moments from my childhood when my mom would take me on adventures within its sprawling corridors. It was a time of wonder and excitement, where each visit held the promise of discovery and joy.
One of the notable changes that have unfolded over the years is the relocation of Aladdin's Castle, the iconic arcade that once emanated an unmistakable '80s vibe with its darkened interiors and captivating lighting. While the arcade is still present in the mall, it has undergone transformations that have diminished the nostalgic atmosphere I once cherished. The brightened ambiance and modernized design may lack the enchantment of the past, but the spirit of friendly competition and exhilaration still permeates the air, evoking fond memories of chasing high scores and sharing laughter with friends.
As I traverse the mall's familiar pathways, a hint of longing washes over me as I recall the absence of the majestic water fountain that once stood as the centerpiece of tranquility and community. Its gentle cascades and the mesmerizing interplay of light and water created a serene sanctuary amidst the bustling mall. Regrettably, the absence of the water fountain has left a void, taking away those precious moments of respite and connection.
Another change that has left its mark is the missing seating and the floor layout that gracefully descended into the ground, providing unique perspectives and moments of relaxation. As I reflect on my memories, I vividly recall the delight of resting on those benches, soaking in the vibrant surroundings, and sharing conversations with my mom. While the current configuration may have evolved, the recollection of those cherished moments remains imprinted in my mind, serving as a testament to the past experiences that shaped my connection with the mall.
Amidst the evolving landscape, one anchor of consistency remains: Chick-Fil-A. Nestled in the same familiar location, it has preserved its distinct flavors and unwavering commitment to culinary excellence. With each visit, I am transported back to the cherished moments when my mom and I would indulge in their delectable offerings, finding solace and satisfaction amidst our mall adventures.
Beyond the arcade and the dining delights, my childhood explorations also led me to the enchanting world of Kaybee Toys. As I stepped into the store, a treasure trove of cool toys, LEGO sets, and new video games awaited my eager eyes. It was a realm of endless possibilities and childhood dreams, where imaginations soared and playtime took on new dimensions.
In conclusion, Asheboro Mall weaves together a tapestry of nostalgia, evolving spaces, and treasured recollections. While changes in Aladdin's Castle and the absence of the water fountain and distinctive seating may evoke a tinge of wistfulness, they serve as reminders of the transient nature of our surroundings. The enduring presence of Chick-Fil-A and the memories of exploring Kaybee Toys with my mom transport me back to those carefree moments of joy and discovery. Asheboro Mall, with its ever-changing landscape, remains a repository of cherished memories and a testament to the enduring power of shared...
Read moreThis is by far a better mall then Concord Mills and the Four Seasons mall in Greensboro. It has the most perfect ghetto, and met my girlfriend in the conveniently located theatre with the most up to date movies like Gone with the Wind. We met after I bought a extra large box of popcorn and the cashier called me fat. I weighed myself yesterday and I was only 296 lbs. Then as I walked to the game room crying my eyes out, I heard I small voice, saying "dude, did you forget your diapers at home?" I cried even harder, after a 4 year old said that to me, I know he's a "big boy" now according to that commercial but no need to be rude. So as I went to watch my movie, I bluntly noticed a really attractive girl sitting by herself on the third row, tenth seat over. And she just starred at me cause I still had tears in my eyes. I then tripped and lost all of my popcorn :( so she got up and pointed at me, she then proceeded to laugh. I felt hurt. But their was another women, she helped me. Her name was Teresa and she worked at Wendys on 3705 Elmsley Ct in Greensboro. She told me about this man named Nick Pearson that would stalk her there. She said he would come in everyday and you should read the review he left for her. Its jaw dropping. So then after the movie has started, she told me about the restraining order againist him, that he can't come within 500 feet from her. Now, back to talking about how good of a mall this is, it has the newest stores like Hollister, oh wait, nevermind, maybe FYE? Crap, give me a minute, well it has Eagles in America, or was it American Owl? Maybe European Husky, man I can't remember what that place is called but anyways, it has some great stores. I give this place 6 stars. I highly recommend it to all my cool friends at school. I also recommend the nearby McDonalds, I never ate...
Read moreI LOVE the frappes at Joe's Muggs, but unfortunately, I will not be gracing BAM with my presence again. The manager - an eye-rolling, tongue wagging, racist fibber - targeted my Hispanic children and their friends as they shopped there one evening recently. She went so far as to announce over the PA system that shoplifting is a crime and advised all employees to watch certain areas of the store (just so happened to be the areas my children were at that moment). She followed the kids around, hiding behind bookshelves, peeking at them from behind open books, etc.
My children are 22 and 16. One has had the same job since he turned 18, never missed a day of work and is being promoted to supervisor. My daughter has a mother who buys her what she needs/wants and is no thief. They just happen to look very...well, dark-skinned.
I went in the next day and asked to speak to the manager. She rolled her eyes at me repeatedly and denied doing any of the things the kids told me about. What she may not remember is she did this once before and I was with my children at the time, but I was in another part of the store. I am disgusted that she is still the manager at BAM. We USED TO shop there on a weekly basis. I had just renewed my membership with them (which I have kept for YEARS). I refuse to return to this store until she is removed as manager.
Books are cheaper on Amazon anyway, but I do miss...
