This place has done everything right. Thoughtful layout, easy parking, and not a single bad vantage point. The merch tables extended onto part of the floor but there was plenty of room to line up comfortably even after the first act went on. On this same side of the floor was a bar cart for easy access. Very reasonable drink prices from beer to mixed drinks with specials, too.
The balcony/mezzanine levels have stools, not actual seats, so you can easily sit or stand. Metal bases with square wooden seats so not very comfortable but once the music starts, you're not sitting anyway. They are spaced generously and there is a small ledge for drinks that spans both levels. Immediately behind the 200 level seats is a VIP bar and a bathroom with no lines. The stage view from both levels is phenomenal, no matter where you are, though anything closer to center is best. Some of the end seats have a bit of a curve backward toward the bar, so the end seat is actually behind the seat next to it. Even so, there is plenty of room and great lines of sight. If you are sensitive to light shows, I recommend picking seats closer to the ends, but maybe not the very end.
The stairs to the balcony/mezzanine are almost immediately after entering the venue. If you are on the entrance end of the 200 level (seats 200-204), there is a slight draft each time the venue entry doors open and close. Not sure about the summer, but it kept things nice and cool in the fall and the climate control down on the floor was a pleasant surprise. Warmer for sure, but still very comfortable. The whole place is immaculately clean.
Regardless of where I was in the venue, the sound and mix were excellent. Overall, the Epic checks every box. It was a 3-hour trip and well worth it for the experience. Six stars if the stools were...
Read moreCame here for a Starset concert which I was VIP for. The sound quality is great, it's really clean, and drinks are pretty reasonable price-wise. Free parking onsite is a huge bonus as we got great parking and I was definitely not sure what the parking situation would look like as a first time attendee. Entry into the venue also was very smooth and went quickly.
For me, my main issues were with seating and with merch. We got balcony seats and I didn't realize that it's just stools, and that there's also a standing room behind us. It felt super cramped and the stools were not comfortable. Would have definitely preferred there to be seats. The biggest problem last night was the merch organization. So there were two merch lines in theory, but because there wasn't enough organization between where the general admission floor and the merch lines started it resulted in many people cutting in the very long lines and substantially slowing down the lines. The merch line took 1 hour to get through before the show, and 1 hour after the show. I feel like venue staff should have stepped in to point out where merch lines started and to keep people from cutting in line.
That being said, security was great in the venue. There was an incident Post-Show where someone tried to cause trouble in VIP and security was on it instantly. I'm so glad venue security handled the situation really well and organized things again. It's a really safe venue.
I kinda wish I knew sooner that food was available for purchase in venue. It would have saved me a trip getting food before the gig.
Overall, I do recommend the venue. It still beats a ton of Milwaukee venues. I'd probably see another show here...
Read moreThe first time we went here for an event and we're not very impressed. As we waited to get inside, the staff members were putting stamps on people's hands outside of the venue if you were planning on having an adult beverage. The problem is that most concert goers had left their id's in their vehicles and only had basics to watch the bands, and if no identification! no stamp! Most of the concert goers were of age,but it didn't matter. Once in, the first thing you see is a long stretched bar with a few staff members serving you,so when you eventually order your beverage of choice, it's $7.00 bucks for mix drinks and $6.50 for a stupid can of Coors or Miller. On top of that, everything is cashless. So ya'll better have a plastic card. Looking around, the next thing you see is a somewhat large warehouse type building with a stage. Absolutely no place to rest, no benches, chairs, or anything even to lean on. There's a small area above with chairs and tables for an extra 25 dollar fee to have the privilege to sit unless you head to the restrooms and find a unoccupied shit'r to sit down. Overall, the sound is okay, but extremely loud with some feedback. Expect to stand for 4.5 hours unless you upgrade for extra money. It's a concrete floor, no foam matting whatsoever. If you're in your 20s, you are not going to care, but once you're past 60, concrete floors to stand on for 4.5 hours really sucks. Enjoy the show, but if you have any health issues, guess'n you will need to pay more money...
