My complaint is with the ushers not doing their jobs during an expensive performance, and with employees of ASO not caring to address a complaint. I made 2 attempts to complain to employees of ASO, rather than leave a poor review. On Thursday I called the main number, left a message, someone called me back and connected me to Dan, who never called back. On Friday I called the main number again, left another message, and no one called back. We saved our $$$ and on January 7th we went to see Shen Yun at symphony hall, left balcony, row D. A woman to my right video tapped the performance and another woman stayed on her phone until intermission. The bright light ruined the first act for us. I got the attention of an usher during first act - a white woman with a long blonde pony tail. We made eye-contact, and I pointed at the woman on her phone. The blonde looked at the phone woman, then walked away. She did not address the issue. During intermission I told the usher who appeared to be the usher for our area - middle-aged, tall, slim, black woman - about the phone woman and the video tape woman. The usher said she had had numerous complaints about the phone woman and the usher stopped the behavior. No more bright phone light during 2nd act. The bright phone light in the darkness is very distracting and Shen Yun tickets are very expensive. Why wouldn't the ushers do their jobs (monitor the area) during the first act so we could enjoy the...
Read moreGood location close to multiple hotels and within walking distance to several restaurants worth visiting. We came from out of town to see Tony Bennett and he did not disappoint. Mr. Bennett's voice and enthusiasm was fabulous. His quartet was equally fabulous. The disappointment came from the Atlant Symphony Orchestra venue. They seem to think it is alright to allow people to come and go through all the doors during the performance and the light coming through the doors was very distracting. Also had multiple photographers in the concert hall during the performance with their high speed cameras and zoom lenses clicking so fast that it was like a fully automatic gun going off in the background and was extremely disrespectful to the patrons and Mr. Bennett to have this going on for the first 30 to 40 minutes. People paid good money to see this performance of a music legend and not have camera clicks as part of the music. Extremely disappointing to see the lack of awareness on the part of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra staff to allow this. LET THE ARTIST BE THE ATTRACTION. Disappointing experience when it could have been amazing in all facets. Thanks to Mr. Tony Bennett for being such an amazing artist under what had to be distracting conditions as he I am sure noticed the constant light intrusion from the sides. I suggest strongly that you only allow entry and exit to the theatre from the back once the show starts....
Read moreSeeing Amos Lee perform with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra was an unforgettable experience. His soulful voice combined with the rich, powerful sound of the symphony created a truly magical evening. Every song felt elevated by the lush arrangements and the sheer talent of the musicians on stage.
The venue itself, Atlanta Symphony Hall at the Woodruff Arts Center, is absolutely beautiful. The acoustics were incredible, allowing every note to resonate perfectly throughout the hall. The seating was very comfortable, and we had a wonderful view of the stage, making the performance even more enjoyable.
During intermission, we visited the Delta Lounge, which was a lovely bonus to the evening. It offered a relaxing atmosphere with plenty of comfortable seating and a nice selection of drinks, providing the perfect spot to unwind before the second half of the show.
The staff throughout the venue were professional and welcoming, helping to create a seamless and enjoyable experience from start to finish. From the stunning performance to the elegant setting, every detail came together for a night that I will not soon forget. If you have the opportunity to see a performance at the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, it is...
