I wish there were such thing as a negative review (Negative Stars should be a thing). I left this place a couple hours ago and it was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had ... I'll paint the picture for you.
We wander into this place after an event at the High.. First thoughts? This place is really cool. There were 30 people there on a Friday night...so we thought we had found a unsaturated gem.
We were so wrong... Like I said it was maybe 30 people dinning on the decks. I went with a friend .. so we are two people. We order water, 1 drink, and 2 entrees.. This is all.
First, We waited 45 min for water, even after giving gentle reminders that "no, we still don't have water Polite chuckle"
Second, When we order, we have to pay immediately because of a problem with the system set up. Odd but.. fine right? Well... the waitress comes back 30 min later and says she LOST my friends debit card. She was cool as a cucumber about it .. didn't really seem to care. Even at this point we aren't boiling .. every right to be but things happen.
Third, You noticed I haven't mentioned food or the drink yet right... its not an oversight. After all this time we are still waiting. But after another 20min or so min my friend's food (the pasta) comes out. No drink yet. He waits a bit and then we agree that he should eat and of course its cold and bland ..
The ONLY thing holding our up our optimism was that we heard the food was great... and it wasn't. Now we are anxious and at this point we are not the only ones. We are now over hearing all the tables around us complain .. eyes darting the room for a sign of service.
By this point we are moving into the 2 hour mark and we decide to cancel the entire order and leave. As we are canceling the food and drink show up... but by this point we just wanted to be done. We reverse the payments on our "pre-paid" food and leave. I was too mad to eat the roasted hen I ordered... if you go there and actually receive your pre-paid chicken, I would love to...
Read moreMe and a group of friends wandered in here after a show at the atlanta symphony. It was maybe an hour before they were to close. The manager, whos name I've forgotten, was one of the most accommodating people I've ever met. It's obvious how much he cares about this place. I can't speak on the food because we didn't eat, but the drinks were beautifully made and the bartenders were attentive and friendly. I only wish I could give a 6th star for the bathroom. Instead of paper towels or dryer, they had a little tray with rolled up cloth towels. You wipe your hands and throw it in the dirty...
Read moreI can only review The Castle based on the bar, but overall I'd say it was a pretty nice spot. Perched on the second floor is a large bar area where we hung out post rehearsal dinner. I would say the area can comfortably hold around 30 people although we had a bit more. Drinks were more expensive than some of the other Atlanta spots I visited, but it seemed to be a little more upscale of an establishment. Another great feature is the outdoor roof deck just off the side of the bar.
Bonus points for the cheap valet...
