Where do I begin? If I could rate this entire experience less than 1 star I would. The lack of communication, commitment and poor repair quality are the reasons why I will not return to uBreakiFix for any service. I decided for the first time to use them for my computer repair. A standard repair for a cracked display on a HP computer. I brought my computer for inspection on Aug. 6. I was then told that a display replacement based on my model number would be $499 (Told over the phone when I asked for an estimated cost the guy on the phone said roughly $200). I knew that probably wasnāt correct and I was right when I was told the actual cost. I agreed to the repair. I was then told that they would have to place an order for a display but the repair should be completed in about a week. Being that I couldnāt use the computer for a cracked screen I agreed to leave it with them ( and as told a $50 dollar deposit will be required for the repair if I took the computer back home). Unbeknownst to me my experience with this company was going to be an unpleasant one.
Weeks go by (almost three) I decided to call to get a repair status ( weeks of zero communication you would think they would contact the customer with an update but I digress). I was told that they are still awaiting the display but it should be arriving soon and they will start repair. Ok cool I thought. Another week and half goes by, no response. I called back. This time no answer. I left a voicemail message asking to return my call. No one called me back. Here we are going into Sept, no computer, no response. Finally I called again a third time asking for an update. I was told that the previous order for the display was canceled and they had to re order it from a different vendor. At this point I am frustrated because why wasnāt this communicated to me. I shared that sentiment to him. He tells me that the repair should be ready by Sept 11 and if there is another delay they definitely call me. I told him that if you canāt complete the repair let me know so I can get my computer back. He said they would do that. Sept 11 came and went. No phone call. I waited. Finally I said I had enough of waiting and will just cancel the repair. By that time I get a text message on Sept 19 that my computer is ready for pickup. I arrive Sunday the 22 to pick it up. I get my computer and itās dirty. New display, the top of the display is dirty. I asked if they donāt clean it before giving it back to the customer. He apologized and took it to the back to clean it. I asked to speak to a manager so I can voice my displeasure of this entire process and it would be a good will appeasement to discount some of the repair. He told me the manager was not in but heāll text him to see if they can give me a discount. He comes back to tell me they can take $20 off the repair. A $500 dollar repair that I had to wait over a month to get and you only can take or $20? At this point Iām upset because thatās a slap in the face. I paid for the repair and he told me that the manager will follow up with me on Tuesday. I said I would like that but history has shown they do not call customers. Just take their money and provide poor service.
Never heard from the manager. So since I canāt tell him/her my complaint I decided to leave a review since I have two texts messages and emails asking for a review. Poor service. If he would have discounted at least $50 I would have appreciated it. But $20 and no call back? Yeah Iāll make sure I post my review everywhere and even the BBB....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI came into see if my iphone 14 pro was repairable. The front screen was broken and glass on the back had been broken as well. The employee took a look at my phone and told me that he could replace the front screen and fix the back if needed. I told him that I couldn't afford to get both fixed only one. He assured me that all I needed to do to get the phone working correctly was get the screen replaced. He then went over the prices with me and I chose to go ahead and get it done thinking that it was a simple fix like the repair man said it would be. Later that day I came back and he quickly held my phone up in the air the screen was replaced and the light came on. I asked him it was all fixed and ready to go and he said yes. to replace the screen the total was going to be $250 but I ended up paying $278. The second I left the store I got in my car plugged my phone in and turned on the gps. Not 2 minutes later the phone became extremely hot and said that it needed to be cooled down before I was able to do anything. I touched the front screen that he just repaired and it was burning to the touch. Over the next 30 minutes the phone got hotter and hotter. To the point that I was not even able to hold the phone. Once I got home I sat it on my counter top and the battery died. Only then did the phone cool down in temperature. I then took the phone and brought it to my local apple store where the technician told me that the phone was clearly visibly damaged to the point that it should have never been repaired and the person who repaired it should have easily seen this. The frame of the iphone was damaged so bad and the glass on the back was broken too much that the "brain" of the iphone is exposed. Not only that but the screen that had been replaced was popping up from the iphone. Clearly You guys at ubreakifix did not have any intention of fixing my phone properly the only thing you intended to do was lie to me and tell me my phone was fixable, do a subpar repair on the screen and take nearly $300 dollars from me. This is terrible business practices and if this is the type of stuff that they do to their customers I would never recommend anyone use this company to...

I brought my phone here because the website said they can repair a OnePlus phone. I could have sent it to the OnePlus service center, but that takes a couple weeks and these guys were willing to do it in a couple days. At this point, the phone was working but the screen was cracked. I prepaid for the screen and they called me to tell me that it had come in. After the first repair, the LED lights were permanently on. I told them about this right away and they said that they'll look into it. I took the phone on a business trip and the touchscreen started freaking out and not letting me use the phone at all. They replaced the screen again but this time the fingerprint sensor would not work, the touch screen would freak out periodically, and the phone no longer looked right. The screen was sitting way up on top of the phone instead of flush with rounded edges. They shrugged their shoulders and I told them this was unacceptable. They refunded me the money I paid them but now my phone was much more damaged than when I first came to them. It turns out that they made the phone unrepairable now by putting in off-market parts. They should not have told me they could do a repair they were incapable of doing. A real mensch would have replaced the phone that they damaged beyond repair, but you won't find a real mensch here.
UPDATE: Below they asked me to call their corporate office. I did so and they said they would call me back within a day. They responded via e-mail and told me that the technician entered my phone in as "untestable" therefore they have no responsibility for it. To get the phone repaired now, after they have destroyed it, would cost $330 at the Acer Service Center, and buying a new one is currently $409. So, that's it for this phone. I feel I have been treated extremely dishonestly from day one, if they were going to enter the phone so as to not worry...
