DON’T GO TO THIS GYM! I’ve been doing CrossFit for 8 y, have trained at many different gyms- even in another countries- and this was the worst gym I’ve ever been to. There’s a coach there named Dalton, and he is extremely unprofessional. From the very beginning, I noticed his indifference toward me. He would never watch my movements or correct me—I always had to ask him to look. During WODs, he would constantly shout out people’s names to motivate them, but never once said mine. There was no reason for him to ignore me like that—it could only be prejudice because I’m an immigrant. One day, my car tire blew out and I asked him for help—he just pretended not to hear me. Every morning I felt uncomfortable going to train, knowing that the coach had that attitude towards me, but I kept going because it was the closest gym to my house. Then one day I hurt my foot—almost broke it—and I could barely walk. Both Dalton and Jimmy just ignored the situation. I was especially surprised by Jimmy’s reaction because he had always been nice to me. That was the last straw for me, so I canceled my membership. BUT THE WORST PART was after I filled out the cancellation survey. Jackie sent me an email saying I wasn’t allowed to do my own workouts—I had to take the class. That made no sense, considering I had 7 years of CrossFit experience, and she knew the awkward situation I was in with Dalton’s classes. Still, because my membership was annual, I had to pay for two more months. They’re totally inflexible! Now I go to a gym where the atmosphere is super laid back. If I want to do my own WOD during class, I can—the owner doesn’t mind. No one deserves to go through such a disrespectful experience! Amanda is a badass athlete, but not a good coach. One day she was teaching RMUP and pointed to a guy, saying he had the strength to try it. Basically, she was indirectly saying I didn’t. “What? I can do legless! How do I not have strength”?! I thought. The issue isn’t that I don’t have strength—it’s that she doesn’t know...
Read moreI have been a member here for 4 years (2018-2022) and this is an awesome gym. I did demo classes with a few crossfit gyms in the area and this was by far my favorite! All the equipment and the whole gym is super clean and the gym felt much brighter and more open than other places I visited.
Since I joined there's been a couple of iterations of coaches and members but everyone is super friendly and the coaches provide you as much or as little guidance as you like. I think I've worked out with basically every coach and they're always ready with some advice or to cheer you on in a workout.
The owner Jackie is also super involved and friendly, it's great to see her coaching as well as jumping into workouts with the rest of us! She's big on communication and I like how she sends explanations for upcoming programming.
The gym also regularly hosts events for holidays and Crossfit events (i.e. the Open and Murph) which are super fun. There's also an in house tournament that sees great participation.
There's also targeted classes included in the membership like gymnastics, lifting, cardio, and swimming in the summer. I know these can be extra charge at other gyms so I'm really grateful I get to focus my training if I want included in my membership.

Read moreI was first introduced to CrossFit at CF404. After spending 7 months here before moving to a new city and joining another box, I've come to realize how special this place is. The daily WODs are well organized with a strength and metcon and no matter how long you've been doing CF, the coaches constantly go around promoting good form throughout the class. The endurance and mobility classes are an added bonus, but the hidden gem that more members need to take advantage of is the yoga at Thunderbolt Power Yoga, which is at no additional cost. However, putting fitness aside, the people at 404 were what motivated me to come to workout everyday.
Hunter does a good job making new members feel welcomed and strives to get to know everyone. The people that I met during my time here were first-class and all had the same goal in mind: to get better and to encourage others to do the same. I moved to Atlanta not knowing anyone and left knowing that I'll always have a home at 404 whenever I'm back in town.
Thanks for everything, 404, and Coach Robert, you're the...
