I stopped by Toast Noir Café to grab an espresso drink while dining next door at the restaurant. The cashier was incredibly sweet and friendly, and the ordering process was smooth. Prices were a bit on the higher side, but I expected that given the novelty of the café and didn’t mind too much.
Unfortunately, the wait for my drink was much longer than anticipated. There was no line when I ordered, yet after about 15 minutes, I noticed several drinks being made—but still not mine. Concerned, I kindly asked how much longer it would be and was told it hadn’t been started yet but was "on the way." At that point, my food had already been served at the restaurant.
I politely asked for a refund so I could go enjoy my meal, and while the cashier tried to help, she needed to call the manager to complete it. When the manager arrived, I explained the situation and she offered to make the drink immediately or even bring it over to the restaurant—neither of which had been mentioned earlier. Had that option been shared up front, I would’ve gladly taken it.
What left a sour taste was the manager’s response when I mentioned I had been waiting 15–20 minutes. She checked the system and said, “It’s been 12 minutes,” which felt a bit dismissive. Regardless of the exact time, a 12+ minute wait for a single coffee with no line is still excessive.
Eventually, I returned to the restaurant and didn’t receive the refund receipt until I was nearly finished eating. While the staff were polite throughout, the miscommunication and delay turned what should’ve been a quick and enjoyable add-on to brunch into a frustrating experience.
There’s potential here, but the process needs tightening—especially for customers trying to coordinate orders between the café and...
Read moreI came in because I had a bit of time before my nail appointment (shout out to A Lenox Nails across the parking lot). Right off the bat, you notice the decor and the cleanliness. I did feel a bit awkward because I noticed a couple of people staring and there was a police officer. However, the vibes were there. I got a large hot mocha with almond milk and a warmed up banana nut bread slice. My order came out to $14.15 before tip. The mocha had a slight sour taste which threw me off. It could be the way I ordered it or the espresso or the milk. I’m not sure. The mocha wasn’t undrinkable, but it was a bit weird. The banana nut bread took a little longer than I would have expected to heat up. It was good, but I can taste that there was too much butter used. My fingers were greasy with butter just from holding the bread. Overall, the service was great. The food would be better. Or maybe I didn’t get the right things. All that said, I would give them one more try. But this place is just an average cafe with really nice decor and...
Read moreI finally visited Toast Noir Cafe and I have to say, the aesthetics are impressive—luxurious and slightly fancy, yet still cozy. It's the perfect spot for a coffee date, hanging out with friends, or even getting some work done.
As for the coffee, it was just okay for me. They offer specialty drinks and a designer flight, but I found them to be on the sweeter side. As someone who enjoys tasting the distinct notes in coffee, I wasn’t blown away. That said, I did enjoy the iced latte with the adorable ice bear—it’s super cute and definitely Instagram-worthy.
Another highlight is their food menu. I tried the tuna sandwich, and it was tasty—great if you're looking for something light to pair with your drink. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and worth a visit if you’re after a cute latte, light bites, and good vibes.
Bonus points: plenty of parking and...
