As a resident of Atlantic City, I didn't have to deal with parking and other such trivialties as many who come do. I come in obly paying the ticket price, 15 dollars for a movie is not bad for IMAX standards, but many discounts are provided such as the Trop Advantage card, which is free and recommend for anyone staying at Tropicana. The discount itself is only $1 but a little known fact is it counts toward comps! Seeing a half dozen movies a year is enough to get many free room and concert and I didn't spend a dime gambling. On to the IMAX itself. You get what you get. Its an IMAX ajd its kept clean and at agreat temperatures in summer and winter. The prices of snacks are a bit higher than even normal theaters, but seeing as we are in AC its forgivable. The employees are polite but steict, which is a good thing I think, given the egos that breeze throughcasinos. Overall a great experience every time. I reccomend going to the first shows which are middle of the day around noon as you can cool off and unwind while the summer...
Read moreI used to always look forward to going to this theater because the sound was clear and the picture was the best you could find. Now the screen has a black line defect on the right side especially visible in bright scenes, and even though we brought it to their attention years ago, it still hasn't been fixed. But what makes the theater an unwatchable experience is how insanely loud it's become. I recently went to see Dune and I had to watch it with earplugs. My friend didn't wear earplugs and after the movie, his ears were ringing and he had a massive headache. We don't plan on going back to this theater and I would never recommend it to anyone again. It's too bad because we had a lot of great movie experiences here over the years, but whoever manages it these days clearly doesn't care about the picture quality or the hearing of its...
Read moreVisited this Tropicana location twice and lovely theater and staff. My only issue is that they need to do a better job offering films that are family friendly and not rated r! Several times Visited and was not able to view films due to content. Horror is a popular genre, however, there are multiple more family friendly films out and with the number of families visiting, it's a shame we cannot enjoy the theater here more. This visit instead of seeing Fantastic Four or Superman, they area offering Weapons. Sadly, another visit where I could not enjoy going to the theater. Please consider placing for family friendly blockbusters here in the future or perhaps split up the showings with family offerings...
