AFS Cinema — Attraction in Austin

Attention Filmmakers looking to rent AFS Cinema. They're at capacity and won't rent the theater for the foreseeable future. I reached out a week ago to get a quote for a theater rental. Was sent a few questions about the film, size of crowd, and amenities needed. I responded and requested dates available and was told Sept 3, 22,23 were available and i requested a quote to see how much it would be to rent the theater. Subsequently I was told that the theater is booked for the foreseeable future and I wouldnt be able to rent a theater. If the person knew this in the beginning why would they waste days of my time asking questions about my film running tine, size of crowd, etc. Why respond with possible dates then ask which date I would want? I'm disappointed I can't rent the theater but understand if it's booked. This information should be made public though so people dont waste time waiting for an answer when they wont have the opportunity to...

AFS Cinema has been a longtime host of Austin Asian American Film Festival. Aaron and Chandra are a pleasure to work with for our rental needs of our 5-day film festival and Nick over projection is a pro at handling our files. Cody and the theater staff team are the best and always make sure our audience members have a great time keeping their hands stocked with treats and drinks as they watch 5 days of Asian American cinema. They even go the extra mile to ensure we have the most updated accessibility options information available for all patrons needing a variety of accommodations.

Our Sweet 16th year was no exception! We hosted everything from film screenings, receptions, our box office/will call, red carpet, etc at AFS Cinema and everything was a seamless experience. Our audience surveys about the venue are always some of the highest ratings...

Flamenco💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻What an incredible evening! This beautiful group of performers shared a piece of their hearts with us last night. Every member was just wonderful… The singer/narrator is sultry and soulful. The musicians were also impressive; particularly the guitarist, who played the winning piece of music from the 2023 Flemenco musical competition. My husband loved it! And finally…. The dancers!!!! Incredible!! They clearly love what they share with the world. The interactions between themselves and the traditional “improvisations that Flemenco is known for” were demonstrated again and again.
