I ordered from Uber eats. Food was okay. Seemed to be prepared well. I ordered the Rainbow, Veggie Roll, and Calamari--nothing really special. I docked off a star and a half because while the calamari was good (the peppers were super delicious), it was mostly the deep-fried breading I was eating. The calamari pieces were tiiiiny in comparison, it kept getting separated from the much bigger breading casing as I was eating it.
I docked off another star and a half because they used single use plastic for their take out orders. The calamari was in styrofoam (not recyclable and not compostable) and the sushi was in a regular plastic sushi takeout container. The whole thing was in a plastic bag and even the ginger came in a plastic packet. The soy sauce also came in a packet too--those don't get recycled.
Being a sushi place, with the problems of over-fishing and plastic waste in the ocean due to the fishing industry, this is negligent. Companies and businesses have to take responsibility, even with small things like takeout orders. I won't be ordering takeout here anymore, unfortunately. Read moreI had a horrible experience at this place. We got seated and we’re given waters, after that we never saw our waiter again. We waited for 25 minutes as the same waiter zoomed back and forth passing us constantly very clearly seeing that we hadn’t even been asked what we wanted. It felt as if they were purposely ignoring us. After enough time passed by we went up to someone and told them that we hadn’t been helped and instead of asking if they could take our order, he just asked “who brought you your waters?”. I can’t see a reason why it matters, if a customer tells you they’ve been waiting a long time to even be asked what they want you should just try and do what you can to take their order. Plus, they use styrofoam which is the worst kind of material to use for food takeout / delivery as it isn’t recyclable or reusable. I base at least two stars for a restaurant’s delivery packaging choices.
They used the hard plastic ones you can reuse for a while but not anymore, I much prefer those. Especially being a sushi place, with the state of the ocean and all the plastic pollution, it’s time restaurants step up and help consumers make better choices for the environment. They could also use paper bags for their Togo food but instead it’s plastic. Restaurants, especially sushi restaurants, need to start being conscious about their Togo orders and packaging / waste.
