The building was really nice. For an art museum, it was a bit small but that's to be expected in downtown Baton Rouge. The overall cleanliness was excellent. I would not recommend attending however, based on the amount of area that has been blocked off, seemingly due to a lack of things to put on display. This made the already small museum smaller. The art, while not to my liking, was spread about so as to make it take up more area than needed in at least half of the available space. If you arrive early the elevator to access the art museum does not start working until the minute they open.

My wife and I looked at the entire museum and it took us about 40 minutes, going slowly. If you're not the type of person to stand in front of an artwork for 3-5 minutes, you might find yourself done in 30 minutes. If you are that kind of person, budget 45 minutes, to an hour tops.

There's no way you take more than an hour here unless you fall asleep, work there, or you're an art...

I knew that I would be visiting Baton Rouge so what I did is I went on groupon and searched things to do in Baton Rouge. I was able to find the Groupon for LSU museum. I really didn't know what to expect but they met my expectations.

My daughter and I literally really enjoyed it. The price was so affordable that I paid. It was around $5 for the both of us.

There was a lot of nice artwork in the museum and the people there were really nice and friendly they even have a gift shop attached. I loved how my daughter and I got to bond during that visit to LSU museum...

Odd things like the top of a commercial kitchen table with bullet holes. No explaination of what it is supposed to mean. Some old artworks including works of jade. Modern art that did not appeal to me. The lobby smelled awful. A couple of rooms of artwork regarding police shooting black people. If you believe all police are racists, then they may appeal to you. Otherwise it seemed too extreme and not helpful in promoting understanding or solutions. I have given two stars because it did have significant variety that could appeal to others but...

I came on a Saturday to visit the museum, and I am so glad I did. It was not busy at all. The rooms flowed well and I liked all of it. My favorites were the Clementine works as they left an odd aching feeling in my heart. The space station exhibit was nice as well. All of it was well worth seeing. I would recommend to anyone in the area.
