Owners and workers are all extremely knowledgeable and very pleasant. This is the place to go whether or not you are a cheese afficionado. If you know what you like, they have an excellent selection of cheeses as well as anything everything you may want to go with that cheese. If you are a novice or just want some help choosing, just describe what you like or tell them the types of grocery store prepackaged cheese you like, and they will help you find something next level for you to try. You also get to sample any cheese before purchasing to be sure it is something you would like. This is a great little shop in the heart of downtown, and I encourage everyone to check them out. If I could give artigiano's more than 5 stars, I would. They have a nice selection of European cheeses that you won't find anywhere else locally. Sampling is encouraged, and the owners are very knowledgeable about what they sell. In addition to cheese, they have wine, flavored olive oils, crackers, garnishes (such as grilled artichokes, cornichons, etc.) - just about anything that you would need to create a charcuterie board. They also have an assortment of hardware such as warming trays for raclette cheese, wine bottle openers, etc. The difference between this place and other cheese stores that I have been to is artigiano's is high end without the high price. Fun place, small store, sort of a boutique offering of wines, specialty goods and food items. We went there mostly for the ice cream.

It’s located on a blocked off street, so you can get ice cream and then sit outside. There can be a fair amount of shade, but don’t count on it. Prices are very reasonable and the portions, even for a small serving of ice cream were quite substantial. An interesting selection of wines including local, and some slightly out of the ordinary.
