Definitely a restaurant to check out. Very comfortable feeling just sitting here. Old City Hall restaurant In downtown Bay City, Michigan Great staff. Very friendly. Plenty of staff. The bartenders, Mandy and Dani were very attentive and courteous but not over friendly. The company general manager was here and working as hard as all the staff. I'm impressed. I enjoyed the delicious bibimbap. It was mild and not overly spicy. The calamaris was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. The live music is calm, relaxing and adds to the overall atmosphere. Check my pics to see menu. I absolutely recommend this great establishment/restaurant. A must visit whether you're traveling north or south, east or west in Michigan. Definitely family friendly. My compliments to executive chef Ryan Cole-Clark. Oldcityhallrestaurant.com To order online

Comically bad. Food was absolutely terrible, borderline inedible. We were recommended the bruschetta appetizer. The “bruschetta” was a hamburger bun, charred, and topped with very wet tomato mixture that had large chunks of raw garlic that overpowered everything else and made the hamburger bun completely soggy. It was $14 and so, so bad. The entrees we got were the linguine pasta with a chicken breast, linguine (no added protein), and a Caesar salad (added steak medium rare). The linguine pasta was noodles swimming in flavorless oil with bitter wilted spinach leaves. Salt and pepper couldn’t even make the linguine worth eating. The steak topping our Caesar salad was cooked rare and was cold upon arrival. The steak was so tough the knives provided and our teeth could not break it down. It was inedible. The Caesar salad itself had good quality romaine lettuce but the dressing was sour/tangy, not our preference but not the worst part of this meal. Seasonal drinks were good and our waitress was nice and attentive. We have previously eaten at Old City Hall and had great meals so we were so disappointed tonight. We left and went and got more food at Retro Rocks after still being hungry from not eating our entrees at Old City Hall. Hopefully they can make some changes.

My old friends and I met here for a little mini reunion for a Friday evening dinner. We made reservations for 12 over a month ago and still only had on server (Samantha, who was great by the way) assigned to us. I normally just eat lunch at this establishment and had not had dinner service here in years. I found the supper menu to be limited. I enjoyed the chicken nacho appetizer but noticed the black bean salsa had decreased in size. My entree was the Sposami Pollo that was flavorful but the chicken was dry. We were seated about 3 hours. They also had live music which was one person singing and playing a guitar. It was extremely loud. So loud that I could barely hear the person in conversation right next to me. I expected a fine dining atmosphere not a sports bar. They have a vast amount of beers, wine and a full bar. Low, high top and booth seating with cloth napkins. The ambiance is old city Brick walls with low lighting. 3% service fee charge for credit cards. Very good service even for understaffing a table. Clean. Limited street parking. I enjoyed the drinks and the company of old friends but I think I will go back to just getting lunch here when it’s better quality food and a little quieter.

The jambalaya was fantastic it was a little bit on the hotter side. The carbonara kinda balanced the heat well.
