Half Price Books — Attraction in Beavercreek

Don't come here to sell unless you are desperate for cash. I fully understand a business has to buy at a price they can make a certain amount of profit.... But how does this calculate??? 154 Archie Double Double digest comics all in good condition... They should have a resale value of about 2-3 dollars as the cover price for these are 7 dollars so you add how old they are... late 1990's -2015. But remember they are in near perfect condition as a lot of these I never actually had time to read. I took well good care of them as I am a collector more so then a reader but I have read some of them but 90 percent of what I was selling was never read so no creases or folding of any kind. There total offer was 40 dollars!!! .... How does that compute??? That means they are offering me around a quarter for each.... Which again they still hold a value of at least 2 dollars or even a little more as that's over 75 percent less than the original cover price. Which means they can sell these for 1.75 and still be under market value. Which means they only wanted to pay me less than 10 percent of true value of my comics... So they sell to me for 25 cents each..... They turn around and sell them for 1.75-2.00 each keep in mind these comics are 300+pages long!!! So we are not talking about a single regular comic with what ... 15-20 pages?? These are like 20-30 regular size comics (when dealing with the number of pages). But I truly believe they have seriously low-balled me. I understand I have the power to turn down the offer.... Which obviously I did. I ended up selling them to a private buyer (as I should have in the first place) for more than double what half price books offered me. ... There is a fine line between making a profit and taking advantage of someone who is selling items they have been collecting for many many years. I can only tell you of my experience. They may very well offer you what you want or more than what you want...... For me it was a very horrible experience. I will never again sell to businesses as they always seem to low ball and they always have the same excuse..... "They are just not selling" or they will use this famous universal excuse..... "They are not worth anything anymore"..... Which is funny as the ones saying this actually OWN!! A comic store!!!! Wow.... You are invested in a business that you are claiming is on a downfall? But yet you still continue to stay in that business??? People are still buying comics.. sales may not be like they were 20+ years ago... But people still buy them ... Just like people still buy old game systems. It's called nostalgic or nostalgia. Stores always use those excuses to have a reason to offer you even less. Doubling.... Trippling money is no longer good enough.... If a business can't make 4-5 times profit... They don't want it. Be warned about this place. Your call.....your items...

Nothing half priced that I can see here at Half Price Book. . They have several copies of two versions of this book. ( See pics) Some in great condition the others old, stained and in an older edition. Both books currently in circulation and available brand new to buy . They both versions are selling brand new at Amazon for $6.99 and at B&N in store for $9.95 regular price. I even saw one at some book store for 14.99. MSRP. This "HALF PRICED BOOK" store is selling them for 4 cents HIGHER than brick and mortar retail for $9.99!!

So how can these USED books be 9.99 ??? not 625 or 445 but FULL PRICE. Sooo I asked. The Manager said, after looking at his computer, be "That's the price". Note they paid as er the computer he was looking at anywhere from 1.25 to 3.50.

sooo I said ok thank you and put them back.

I am looking for these books because we need as many as we can get, to give away, to help people in addiction. We are buying them to give away free . I am not trying to get them for free I'd just like to have these USED, some very USED, Books at half price as the sight out front says. I guess it is not just the internet that miss leads the buyer.

FYI: Soo it is cheaper to buy a brand new than buy used at Half Price Books in Beavercreek Ohio.

Why do they call themselves HALF PRICE Books??..

The lady that runs the store has no type of respect when she talks to customers and she is rude as hell and will low ball you for books then sell them for a better profit. She was rude before I even walked into the store. I called and had a couple questions about how the buying and selling processes works she said things such as " don't think you're gonna get rich off a book " I just asked how much would she offer me cause the book sells online for over 1,500$. She didn't like what I said I was just asking what she would offer me for it she said " 5$ " I told her you've had a problem with me since I got her I wasn't even talking to her to begin with it was a male who was helping me she came over and started talking over him basically took over his job throwing jabs left and right I started to leave she said your banned from the store after I told her about herself. GREAT...
