PATHETIC EXPERIENCE – Selling Spoiled Food Before Expiry and Refusing Refund or Exchange!

A sealed pack of Iyengar’s pav buns was purchased from this store just a few days ago. The expiry date clearly showed November, yet within barely five days, thick fungal growth was visible through the transparent packaging — without the seal even being broken! The packet was stored EXACTLY THE SAME WAY this very shop keeps such items — "at normal room temperature."

When taken back to the store, instead of accepting the issue, the young manager arrogantly refused to take any responsibility. He kept blaming for not storing it “in the right condition.” What nonsense — the pack was sealed and stored exactly as they do! Even after being shown the clear FUNGAL GROWTH and VALID EXPIRY DATE, he flat-out DENIED BOTH REFUND and REPLACEMENT. There wasn't even any such no-return policy on their bill for such items which clearly qualified this item for a return/exchange!

To add insult to injury, he REFUSED to even take back the spoiled food, asking the customer to throw it in their trash can outside!

Rather than stooping to their level, we tossed it in the dustbin and walked out — DISAPPOINTED, FRUSTRATED, and EMPTY-HANDED.

What kind of business behaves like this? Selling stale, fungus-infected food, then blaming customers, and refusing to ACT RESPONSIBLY was absolutely disgraceful.

This is not just bad service — it’s UNETHICAL, UNHYGIENIC, and a clear HEALTH HAZARD. There should be official complaints filed against such shops for selling spoiled food and treating customers so rudely.

BEWARE! This store is a complete shame — NO integrity, NO accountability, and NO respect for consumers. They are literally looting customers while selling rotten products under valid expiry dates. NEVER buy from here unless you want to be cheated and insulted!

This truly deserves a ZERO ratings!...

I use to go this store since last 4 years but every time faced very bad bad experience and cashier's counter. One old cashier with white mush Tash have to welcome the customer but even I tried to say Namaste to him, he did not response. Few months back I approached to cashier counter for check out then this old guy ask me to go to other cashier... when go to other cashier and he say go back to old guy cashier... then old guy says ... go the same cashier then it was too much for me, any way I checked out and ask them not to treat customers like this. Today again I went to this store, my purchase was more than $100 and they use to give me some discount but today he refused then I ask him .... it means I should not come to your store then he very easily .. Not to come. This is the type of customer care and I am wondering what training the owners are giving them when hiring them or if they are old it does not mean they can misbehave with customers, they should have to trained them properly how to welcome customers, how to speak with them and at the end ask at least thanks to your customers if you want them to come again to your store but this old guy (I don't know his name) use to look on customers like he is angry with them or he don't want to speak with them and on the other hand his wife (Kakki) is very nice lady, hard working good with customers too. Sometime I feel its customer's mistake why they come to this store. Now I am not going to this store again and prefer to to Apna Bazar and India Sweets and Spices or at Krishna...

This speicifc indian store india supermarket - They are selling majority of items too pricey.I am in US for last 6 years but I never honestly came across so pricey Indian Grocery,Never!! They MUST reduce their prices which are not even at PAR , i would req. owner to consider reducing the prices overall for all the non-perishable items specially which they are really expensive. One example - 20 LB Sujata Aata for 21$+ Common man , I never paid more 12$ Max across the US in 10 differenr states from east to west I had stayed in the past . So cut the chase and reduce your prices for all these items. Aata being the staple food of 99% of indian families and you are selling for $21+ I can’t imagine how much margin you are getting out of this. It is Insane. Not just aata for all the other items which can be actually bought on a cheaper price in Walmart which is at a walking distance from your shop . Otherwise ppl will stop buying from this store. And i stronglt advice ppl to look out for items in costco and walmart which are far below than this store is selling all the time and never recommend this store to anyone...

A grocery store in some ways is a community store and in that sense builds personal relations with some or most of its customers. At times of some exception they tend to help. We are regular customers here and this fine day I wanted to pick an item on my way back home. Unfortunately I realized at the time of checking out that I had forgotten my wallet and my GPay was not going through. The item cost was 2$ and I requested if I can take the item and come back to pay in the evening. Believe it or not - they said no. 2$ !!! So any pretense of community, friendly neighborhood is just that at this place. If you need that Apna Bazar may be a better alternative when they have helped in countless ways many times. Fortunately I managed to get GPay work and went back to get the item.

Have had not so good experience with quality of food products served. Got two Amul ice-cream boxes from frozen section. Both when opened were half or more than half empty!! This indicates that all these ice-cream in their freezer were let to melt completely during transportation and delivery was accepted by India Supermarket without checking. And even worse the price they tagged were super high - a rip off. Don't buy ice-cream if they don't accept returns when customer brings issues like this to notice. Markets like these don't accept returns and customer service when it comes to such thinks are questionable

India Supermarket, What's a nice little supermarket filled with lots of Indian ingredients. Aisles and shelves are stocked to the brim with many products. They have a nice selection of produce, and frozen goods, and also have flour and an eating area. Make sure you check the expiration dates on some of the items on the shelf. The engine area is like a buffet or you can order off the menu I believe.
