Bluebird Day Vacation Rentals — Attraction in Bend

We couldn't have been happier with our stay here at the Bend Osprey vacation rental! It was perfect for the three of us (my boyfriend, our 2-year-old son & I). It came with just about everything you need! The kitchen was fully equipped with all the cooking utensils, pots & pans, etc that you would need. They included body lotion, shampoo/conditioner & body wash (all very great brands as well!) in the bathroom. There was coffee and a coffee pot ready for use which was some of my favorite coffee while I was there, from backporch coffee roasters! We met the owner while we were there (who lives right next door) and he was so nice and accommodating. We were the first to stay in this lovely little place and I can honestly say that there was nothing missing. They provided us with everything we could have needed while on vacation. We loved how close to town we were too! So close to great local coffee shops, lovely local restaurants & markets! Some of our favorite spots in Bend were Jackson's Corner (so great if you have kids with you and even if you don't, you HAVE to go here!), Backporch Coffee Roasters (best chai in town in my opinion!), Spork was such a fun place to eat with such a unique & positive atmosphere (the fish tacos were fantastic!), and last but not least our other favorite was Devore's Good Food Store (perfect spot for real healthy foods, yummy prepped meals and desserts & just about anything else you would need). As far as activities, we didn't really get out to do much. We stayed in and relaxed since that's exactly what we were looking for. But we know that Bend offers so many fun outdoor activities and we can't wait to come back to experience what else Bend has to offer. If you are having a hard time deciding on whether or not to stay here, just take our word for it and enjoy your stay! It's perfect for couples, couples with a small child, or even just a single! However, you can most definitely fit (very comfortably) 4 people here. We have already recommended this sweet place to so many of our friends/family! Just spent the weekend here celebrating my sisters wedding. If I could give zero stars trust me I would. When you enter this home there are tacky signs posted EVERYWHERE. The worst one states ”this is OUR home. Take your parties elsewhere” putting so much emphasis on the our by typing it in big bold capitalized letters. Making us feel so unwelcome here. Other signs state no music after 10 pm. Absolutely no smoking. And so on. When we had checked out of this place-Bluebird Vacation Rentals messaged my little sister to let her know she is going to be receiving a large fine for leaving dirty sheets and they were extremely rude to her in doing so. We had followed all of the millions of rules laid out by the house and Airbnb but yet they are so greedy they are still finding a way to somehow make another buck. I highly doubt they are actually replacing these sheets like they say they have to do. They are most likely washing them and pocketing the large amount of money they are charging my sister. This is scummy behavior and I recommend no one else should stay here and be treated like this. Also just a side note- an expensive vacation rental like this that sleeps 10 people should have a modern lock box on the door not something from 1940. I swear we spent half the weekend struggling to lock this house with this old fashioned out of date lock box. Like seriously blue bird it cost one nights stay here to get the nice digital one. We planned a 4 night trip to Bend with Bluebird Day Vacation Rentals in the Aspen Getaway house. Overall the location is good for walking to restaurants and bars, though it is amongst a block of commercial properties and next door is an abandoned house. The biggest issue we had was an absolutely terrible bed. It was so sunken in on both sides, our heads were actually below our feet. After we tried the pullout bed from the living room couch the 2nd night and found that to be terrible too-- weirdly the head of the bed was also lower than the feet-- it may have something to do with the uneven and warped flooring, I called to see if they had any solutions for us. They said their other properties were booked and couldn't move us. When I asked to check out a night early and for a refund for that 1 night, they said they could not do that and offered no other compensation. Update 9/14/25. Bluebird has since reached out saying that they checked the bed and it was indeed terrible but that other guests hadn’t told them. They refunded us 1 night’s cost, which is what I had proposed.
