Update ā October 21, 2025 Unfortunately, the Bloomingdale location continues to disappoint. While theyāve had some great instructors, theyāre unable to retain themāturnover remains high. Cleanliness continues to be an issue, with floors often dirty. Management also seems unwilling to work with clients or show much flexibility.
I still attend once per week - even though I would love to do it at least twice per week, because I genuinely enjoy reformer workouts, but I no longer attend on a set schedule with an instructor. Whatās the point? Each time I find an excellent instructor, theyāre gone within a couple of months. If there were another Pilates studio nearby, Iād cancel my membership in a New York minute.
Update 7/31/24 I am very disappointed at the Bloomingdale location. For the past 15 months They keep losing fantastic trainers, they are way too rigid with their policies (sometimes exceptions are okay to apply), the place could use to be clean more often, and there is always an discontent atmosphere among employees. I will not upgrade my membership, once a week is enough of that environment - I keep going because I love the reformer and the place is 5 minutes from my home.
Update 7/28/23
Things have improved a bit.The staff is working on being more friendly and helpful. I would like to see a senior discount for us retired on a fixed income.
Big shutout to Maria, she is by far the best instructor I had have in a long time. Five starts for her.
She is not your "aerobics energetic" trainer like others, she holds a zen quality vibe focusing on form and breath. Maria takes the time to explain what is going in the body with each movement. What I like the most is that she is invested in her clients so we receive posture and form corrections from her - that is rare and very much appreciated. Very effective workout, just in a few sessions with her I have seen much improvement.
Original: 5 Stars for this Studio location and instructors, especially Lisa. Lisa is fantastic, upbeat, and kind, she explains what muscles are you working with each move, and most importantly she encourages the marriage of breath and movement.
1 Star for membership service The administrative Staff is highly unorganized. The structure of membership payments is confusing and I am constantly looking over my shoulder to make sure I do not get ripped off. I never had to pay a monthly-free fee when going on vacation on other memberships. The phone isnāt answered. Messages arenāt returned. Have to call multiple times to ensure requests get managed. This happened multiple times. Very frustrating
6/12/23 Replying to the owner's comments: Thank you for your response. I have been member of many places in my 65 years of age and I can tell you that it is not "common practice" - what is common practice is seeking customer satisfaction, by having a user friendly membership plan and listening to the customers' needs. Customer service is not up to par, you can see that on other reviews. Your app could be more user oriented and allow payments through it (I used to be an IT person, I know is possible). It is disappointing to be because I enjoy the instructors and the benefits of the workout and truly dislike the way your company treats customers. I make the choice of supporting my health and your instructors even though I dislike to support your...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEDIT: I spoke to the manager Chandler and she basically backed their policies (or lack of) and said itās more important to fill a class than have people stay home when theyāre sick because the instructors are paid based on how many people are in class. Itās no wonder they constantly have random substitute instructors and canāt hire permanent ones, I wouldnāt want my pay being based on something I couldnāt control directly (class size, time of day, etc.). Truly disappointing they donāt care about their membersā health as a health-promoting business. She also said my wife āseemed fineā during the class she attended while sick. She wasnāt even there at the time and my wife told me she had to run to the bathroom crying because she felt so sick. This lack of care for members who are paying hundreds a month is truly unacceptable and she will not be attending this location again.
This is a franchised location and I would avoid it at all costs if you donāt want to get sick.. I recently spoke with them because my wife developed the flue over the course of a day and tried to do the right thing by telling them. Their response was to have her still come in or else suffer a late cancellation fee.. in the world we live in today how are businesses not learning to take sickness more seriously? I called and spoke to Lexi, who told me that since the manager was out there is nothing she can do, nor could she provide me a number for further assistance. This is not a $30 a month gym, this club charges hundreds a month to be a part of it and has zero customer support whatsoever. Just another overzealous business with horrible policies, avoid...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSo Iāve been going to this club pilates for a little bit now (still fairly new though) and Iām not super impressed with some of the trainers here. I work full-time but have a bit of time on Tuesday and Thursday evenings to take classes here, and Iāve taken a few classes with Radika. She is not a bad trainer per se, but my god is she rude and harsh. Iāve never met such a cold trainer who canāt be bothered to teach, even though thatās her literal job. I was thinking about other trainers I could take a class with, and they have Desiree working on Thursdays. Sheās pretty unclear in her classes and honestly, they are not good. Iāve definitely taken better classes at this location, but not with Desiree. I also have been considering going Friday evenings but the trainer Kathleen has classes that are very much not worth attending. Her classes are bad, plain and simple. Yet somehow she is teaching a lot of hours there. How are they letting bad trainers dominate classes there? How does this make sense? Iāve overheard other members complain about these three, and Iām sure by now management has passed along feedback to these trainers but nothing seems to change. I donāt write reviews often but I am disappointed and considering leaving. Tbh, Iād say go to another place if you want good pilates workouts. Havenāt been able to try the other instructors although Iāve heard better things about them for sure, but my schedule simply doesnāt align with theirs and I just want good classes for...
