I recently had the pleasure of dining at Okapi Bistro for a special birthday dinner, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. Akipo Bistro offers a unique African cuisine that is bursting with incredible flavors. From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was captivated by the warm and inviting ambiance.

The service at Okapi Bistro was top-notch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable, making sure that every aspect of our dining experience was perfect. The attention to detail and genuine care for their guests truly sets this restaurant apart.

Didn't get the opportunity to eat there because they weren't open. We were there at 1:45 on a Saturday and their hours said they open at 11:00 am. Said that on the door. On their Facebook page. On several websites. But there was a sign hanging on the door saying they would open at 2:00, so I called. The person that finally answered the phone said they changed their hours and would open at 4:00...then he said 3:00. This is not a good start for a restaurant and I will not likely be back, since I don't know if I will drive there only to find they changed their mind about hours yet again.

Response to owner: I just checked your Facebook and website and neither have new hours posted (Facebook: 11:00 am - 1:00 am, website: 11:00 am - 11:00 pm). If, indeed, you had an emergency that impacted your hours, I offer my condolences; however, that seems an odd excuse for a permanent change to your hours, which is what you seem to indicate, as did the person I spoke with on the phone (who did not mention any special circumstances that would lead to a delay...

I am not very generous when I give stars but here are the reasons why I give it a 5: First, I am impressed by the effort she put in the atmosphere. Very hospitable. The owner surely knows how to showcase the African culture. As for the food, I will definitely come back to try other items in their menu. I give kudos to the chef/cook who knows how to properly prep and cook fresh food. The price is very affordable. Staff/owner is very friendly and patient when describing their menu. I would highly suggest their menu for you to try on with your friends, family, coworkers or a date instead of a typical chain/restaurant.

Flo is the owner/staff of this local restaurant. I will describe her as a very hands-on businesswoman because she listens to her patrons like me who is a first timer of an African cuisine.
