They said Michael's was taking over the fabric from JoAnn fabrics if the selection is this limited and only at 2 stores Naperville or Orland and barely fills a 1/4 an isle that's pretty said. If you call spreading bolts of fabric here and there on empty shelves on both sides of isle taking over you are sailing mistaken. You do not hold a candle to JoAnn Fabrics not even close! Sorry but if you want JoAnn's customer's you actually have to have the merchandise to purchase. Cutting counters should always be by the fabric to insure more sales. If I'm standing there as a customer waiting to be waited on or waiting looking from the counter as your cutting my fabric chances are I'm going to find other material to buy. If the fabric is in back of the store and cutting counter in the front of the store your losing great opportunities to sell more fabric. I along with others I've talked to said it's not worth walking all the way back there. What if there's not enough on the bolt or they grabbed the wrong fabric they most definitely aren't walking all the way back to the back of the store to walk all the way back to the front to wait to get waited on yet again. You can send all those special coupons you want until you actually have a variety of fabric like JoAnn's you will not have the loyal customers JoAnn's did. I had called before I came to the one store and got told you had a wide variety of fabric and you had what I needed not the case on either. Ended up going to Textile Outlet in Chicago hard to park there but they have a lot of fabric at reasonable prices. I myself can't go there weekly like I did JoAnn's but I definitely will make a list of things needed and buy at one time here and there. I unsubscribed from my JoAnn site because of the disappointment of basically no fabric. Just...
Read moreWow...just wow.... I ran into my neighborhood Michael's to pick up a gift for my daughter. The store was out of stock, so I asked if they could call the Willowbrook location to see if they had the item (I was happy to drive over there if I knew they were holding it for me). The cashier told me that she wasn't allowed to call for customers and tried to get assistance for someone else to call (the other associates ignored her repeated request on the shared earpiece/communication device they all use). So, I saw her looking over at an associate across the way from the registers and asked her if he was in charge and who she was trying to reach. She said "yes", so I went over to ask for his help. Ryan (mid-forties, brown beard) rolled his eyes and told me he was "too busy" to call and "it would take 20 minutes" to get an answer from the other store and he just "didn't have time..." My face must have registered my surprise/displeasure, he then took on the behavior of a petulant child, (insert long sigh here) "Well, I guess I could call for you..." with behavior indicating that this was the LAST thing he would like to be doing with his time! I left, no purchase and no intention of returning to this location. I will shop at Hobby Lobby or the Willowbrook Michael's before returning to this unprofessional and unpleasant store. Do yourself a favor and...
Read moreVery poor service. On a Sunday evening I called to find out if they can replace the glass on a picture. Was told yes they do. I told the person I would either be in that night or the next day. I showed up one hour before close that night, and was told the person in the frame department had just left and wouldn't be back until Tuesday around 11:00 am. I asked if someone could just tag the picture with my name and number so i could leave it. Was then told they have a policy that merchandise couldn't be left without someone in the frame department present. Several issues here... if you are going to have a policy like this then you should have a policy that the frame department remain open until closing. If it is known that the person wouldn't be back until Tuesday why wasn't I told that in my initial phone call. If a department is going to have different hours than the rest of the store perhaps you...
