Sadly, not the best experience for my first Boston dispensary.
Nice looking place. Staff is very friendly and I took advantage of that to ask questions about different products, get recommendations, etc. Even in the store, you place your order online... Then you move to another line to pay and pick up your order in a sealed baggy. I was happy till I got home.
Lets not get into order specifics, but after talking with staff extensively about my needs and what they thought were my options I payed a decent chunk of change to make my purchase. However, when I was able to open up my items and investigate, I found I hadn't gotten what I wanted at all. And I mean, far off. As in, I'll never use the majority of my purchase.
No worries... I'll head back to the store for a return and just pick up what I wanted (now knowing more.) Wrong. Again I was treated really nicely, but when I explained my situation a manager told me that her hands were tied and regulations wouldn't let her do exchanges after products left the store. I could understand that, can't bite the apple then return it, but I was returning (electronics) for lack of a better term that were never used. There must be something we can do?
At the end of the day, there was no effort to amend my situation on behalf of Ascend Boston. They could have given me an exchange on my non regulated items, they could have even given me credit for what I purchased (I had walked in the second time planning to eventually spend more to get what I want anyway.) I left kinda feeling like Ascend was nothing more than a used car lot pushing product that people want and vanishing in the night. The manager I spoke to actually suggested I try to sell the product to a friend... Really?
The system seems set up to fail. Your bag is sealed in the store, but you can't make exchanges after you leave... You can't examine products to buy them because all browsing is done online. And staff isn't knowledgeable enough to prevent the sort of problems I experienced. Growing pains aside, this seems like more of an exploitation of new cannabis laws, than a celebration of them. Check it out for yourself, but buyer beware. I'd suggest...
Read moreThis is my favorite dispensary in the Northeast USA , RIGHT NOW The reasoning behind that is simple
#1 customer service and disposition and attitude of staff is unequivocally the best I've ever experienced in the recreational market
#2 They're products and the Specific variety of strains and above the variety of strains I know someone is curating and choosing the Specific Ware's you offer , now this is important and I say that too say this it's not just the selection it's not just the quality it's the thoughtful and also amazing tastes that they stock I really appreciate the fact that when I find something I really like ( for instance pineapple gold it has become my favorite all around anytime smoke ) not only do they have it properly labeled and advertised but they co consistently try to stock the same base strains from they're inhouse stock ( Ozone .....honestly for the $ they are one of the top 2 in the nation for me number one because of the consistency number two the gcms testing done on each individual pressing of oil for exact cannabinoid content down to the mg and the reason that's so important is because they might say have pineapple gold carts for two weeks that are 83% thc but the next batch pressed on a different day from different plant material but same strain is totally unique from that ... unscrupulous dealers don't disclose this info in those situations
Next week the same vapes will have a new gcms and the pineapple gold will be 84.8 thc
test and cannabinoid content broken down and listed in the products description and that level of transparency is how you not just gain my respect but my trust and guaranteed long term business
#4 location is handicap accessible I am disabled and they go above and beyond to accommodate me every trip
#5 best prices in Boston for high quality marijuana...
Read moreAVOID!!! This store is getting worse and worse. The hours on google, Apple and their own website are all wrong. They close early all the time (before 7pm) but on their website they claim they close 9pm. When you call them they also say they close at nine. Today a group of people - about 15 people - was turned away before 8pm. Yesterday they were closed before 7pm. When asked why, their security personnel indicated covid. What a childish excuse. They can’t hide behind covid anymore. This is ridiculous! If they were smarter they could at least say “we sold out”. Or update the hours. When I asked why the hours couldn’t be updated I heard: “I don’t care, it’s not my problem”. Imagine paying 30$ for a cab, getting to the place two hours before closing time just to find out that you wasted your money. You see people in the store but no one cares for you. Perhaps they should hire some security and management that is actually professional. Also selling batteries that are completely useless after 1 week of use is really horrendous.
To the store managers: if you’re an adult, act like one!!!
To everyone who had been turned away or mistreated: there’s “Berkshire Roots” in East Boston. Only 5 minutes walking from maverick station. On milk street downtown there’s “cannabist”, “seed” on centre street, “happy valley” in East Boston and “Pure oasis” on blue hill ave. None of these stores close early, in fact Berkshire roots let me in few times past closing time. What a wonderful service Berkshire...
