LOCAL’S Secret! Walk down the ramp to the FREE public dock during low tide (you’ll know if it’s low tide because the ramp will be very steep). Under the building are the remains of the original granite blocks and pilings that held the ships of the Boston Tea Party. It’s fascinating to see the engineering of the wharf walls.
In other words, if you stand on the dock, you are standing nearly exactly where the tea was when it was thrown overboard during the Boston Tea Party.
