Located in the financial district, The Palm is an upscale steakhouse chain popular for business meetings and for elegant dinners. I initially wasn’t planning on taking a visit, but their lunch deals seemed too good to pass on. We started off with some fresh oysters and clams. Oysters were almost sliced into small pieces and with the absence of their texture and flavor, they were certainly the worst I had so far in Boston. However, the clams had a nice meaty texture that I really enjoyed. Our appetizer was also a tad lacking as shrimp bruno came with a bland sauce and with unremarkable seasoning. The highlight of the meal was obviously the center-cut filet. Nothing special, but as expected from a steakhouse, everything was executed flawlessly. I usually prefer medium rare for filet, but it tasted better as a medium than a medium rare. We then finished our meal with the key lime pie and the junior cheesecake. Both were good, but the key lime pie was more decadent and the better choice among the two. Overall, this place seems to be one of the top places to grab steak for lunch in the area. Their service could be better, but they are still worth a visit.

In short, great steaks, but you can go elsewhere for the seafood. The meal was fairly slow, but I blame that in part to a large holiday party The Palm was hosting that evening. It was just difficult at times flagging a waiter or getting water. To go through the courses: bread was fine. I liked the breadsticks the most. I started with the wedge salad, which had a great amount of toppings, but I wasn’t the biggest fan of the dressing. Next time I might ask for it on the side. I ordered the surf & turf and my dad got the ribeye. Ribeye was excellent. My petit filet was also enjoyable. Having not ordered it with any sauces, the flaky sea salt on top was perfect, bringing out the best in the steak’s tenderness and warmth. However, the lobster was lackluster. It had very little taste, even when dipped… and then smothered, in butter. I ate it with the mashed potatoes, and it was significantly improved. Lastly, the chocolate cake was great to share. All in all, I really appreciated the portion sizes. I wasn’t overly hungry, but I didn’t feel that I was given an insane amount of food.

The Palm in Boston was easily one of the best date nights we’ve ever had. The ambience was upscale and elegant, yet relaxed enough that we could actually hear each other and enjoy a proper conversation. One of the main reasons I chose The Palm was because very few restaurants in Boston serve Rombauer Chardonnay, one of my absolute favorites—and it was every bit as good as expected. The food was outstanding. Starting out, we took the jumbo shrimp in honey mustard and it was just terrific! The Branzino, paired with a flavorful jam, was fantastic, and the chicken parmigiana was generous in portion and equally delicious—we had to take a lot of it home. Our server, MacKenzie, was wonderful; attentive, personable, and he even brought out a massive chocolate cake on the house, which he made himself. Paired with decaf espressos, it was the perfect ending to the meal. Everything about this place felt polished and top-class, from the décor to the smallest details, even down to the quality of the paper towels. I’ll definitely be back again—The Palm exceeded every expectation.

We've been to the Palm a few times either by Copley or in the newer location near the financial district. The interior is very elegant, extremely high ceilings. Beautiful polished marble throughout the entire entrance along with beautiful polished mahogany or oakwood. Just really elegant what are the most elegant restaurants you've ever been in and we've been in a lot. I was taken there for my birthday now my spouse took me out the night before and we went to another steakhouse so I didn't have steak at this point at the Palm but I did have the roasted sea bass. Which a couple of us had and I'll tell you boy it was that good some of the best I've ever had. If I hadn't had the filet mignon the night before I would have had the filet mignon on my birthday but I don't like doing Overkill at that point. The staff was fantastic. They took beautiful care of us. Now my spouse is a pastry chef and made a special dessert for me. Chinese cake. It's similar to the ones that you would see in a high-end Chinese bakery. Lots of whipped cream and lots of fresh fruit. Normally there's a carving fee but they did it complimentary for us and I really appreciated that. Too bad we don't live a little closer or that they're not a little closer to us otherwise we'd be eating there definitely more often. We really recommend people going down there. No Sunday nights that's going to change probably right about now in early August admittedly they have very few diners there on Sunday night. The plan now is to do a Sunday brunch up to about 4:00 in the afternoon. I'll have to take a look at the menu it should probably be posted very soon and we might come down there sometimes for the Sunday...

I dined here with my family for my Birthday last night, and the food was terrible. Good location, good atmosphere, great service, but don't expect to get the quality of food that you would from any other similar tiered establishment in the area.

The Calamari was chewy and stale, it should have never been served. The fries were burnt and the soda didn't have any carbonation.

My son ordered Kagoshima A5 Wagyu New York Strip, it was served cold, super under cooked for medium+ rare with zero flavor. I ordered the Prime Tomahawk Ribeye, it never made it to the table. The floor manager came table side to notify me that it smelled funny after being cooked and he wasn't going to serve it. He had me pick another steak, which was server 35 minutes later. That steak was over cook, tasted tangy and had zero flavor.

My wife and daughter ordered pasta dishes. Both dishes came with super mushy pasta. My wife added shrimp to her dish and the shrimp was grilled and placed on top of the pasta. Everywhere else would mix the shrimp into the pasta sauce and cook it with the dish. She hates grilled shrimp!

However, our server was amazing and super apologetic, the floor manager was very complementary and took both steaks off the bill (since we only took a few bites of each one), threw in the fries and a slice of birthday cake on the house.

This place has a lot of potential if they can just get the kitchen to delivery the quality of food that would be...

Brunch! Apparently the Palm has only just started offering it over the last couple weekends. Let me just say, whoever came up with the idea to take arguably the best steakhouse in the city and add a brunch menu deserves a promotion. Fantastic meal and experience, here are some highlights:

Mimosas: These are the showstopper, and you must order it. The menu claims it serves 4-6, so I was assuming I'd see a normal bottle of champagne which, when doled out judiciously, can eke out 4-6 mimosas. Not so. We received the largest bottle of champagne I've ever seen served at a restaurant, along with several carafes of various juices, purees, and a couple bowls of fresh fruit. Make your own mimosa, EASILY left the 4 of us who split it happy with multiple full glasses each.

Meatballs: I had no idea tiny meatballs belonged on a brunch menu until yesterday, and now I will never go back. Delicious, tender, piping hot, perfection.

Caesar: Excellent caesar salad, made tableside, delicious dressing, snappy croutons, plenty of cheese on top.

Pancakes: Light, extremely fluffy, downright poofy even but delicious. Another must order, the fact that you can get them as part of the larger breakfast order (eggs any style, bacon, pancakes, potatoes) is a highlight.

Service great, atmosphere great, we all left satisfied. Boston has a new contender for best brunch...
