I asked to have my hair lightened to gray because Iām naturally about 90% gray. I sent pictures of my hair color in the state it was in and pictures when it was naturally gray for reference . I was told that the service could be done. I was also told that the stylist I was referred to (Olga) could do African American hair. The day I arrived, she surveyed my hair and began the coloring lightening process. I was concerned because it was taking so long with the bleach on my hair. Fast forward to when she rinsed out the bleach and I was mortified. Not only was my naturally Uber thick curly hair stringy and straight, it was a horrible orange and big bird yellow color. It was also extremely fragile and fried!! I wanted to cry!!! Iām not sure how I managed not to. She then tried to blow dry my hair and it was so awful and the ends were so dry that it was not possible. Donāt forget my hair was healthy when I arrived. I then asked could she tone my hair down because of the awful brassy color and she did to a medium blonde (donāt forget I came for my hair to be gray). However, after she toned my hair to medium blonde there was nothing else she could do with it. There was no style that could be done. Instead of leaving the salon feeling beautiful or even cute, I left with the turban headband I came in with and a head full of very very loose waves and strings that couldnāt be styled. Oh and letās not forget I was charged the full price I was quoted and then some. Over $250. This service was done in October and Iām still suffering the consequences. I had to have all of my hair cut off and darkened because it was in awful shape. All she had to say was Iām not able to provide the service you requested and explained why. Instead she left me feeling horrible and looking worse than that. I usually donāt complete reviews, but because my hair is still dry and awful even after being cut to almost bald; I had to say something!! I hope what happened to me doesnāt happen to...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI really debated if I wanted to leave a review or not this pass week. Unfortunately, I feel like I need to say something. Last weekend I called the salon to see if they had any availability for a blowout. They said they did and I said I would like to go with the $40 dollar option since I'm on a budget and it being my birthday I wanted to treat myself to other things that day. So the apt was booked and I thought I was good to go. Once I got there and was eventually seen by the person that was supposed to do my hair she for one didn't come across friendly at all which in return made me feel very uncomfortable. She proceeded to ask me what gloss I wanted, and I said I didn't request a gloss to be done. I only wanted a blowout. After we established that she didn't ask me any other questions in regards of my hair. Once my hair was clean and blow dried it looked like I just did it at home. No volume or anything. I was highly disappointed. I went to go pay my bill and she quoted me 15 dollars more than we had talked about over the phone. I said I asked for the $40 dollar tier and she in return said the person you saw was $55. At this point she said we took off the gloss which saved you money, ( which I never asked for in the first place). I tried to tell her I didn't ask again for someone more expensive and she said the person in which I probably spoke to over the phone was probably new and didn't put it in right. That wasn't my fault and nor was it a new person I spoke with. She refused to at that moment make the situation right or apologize for the mistake. I was very upset but I didn't want to argue especially on my birthday. It was the first thing I did for myself that day and I felt like I could have done a better job on my hair at home. What a shame. I've never left a bad review for a business but this was very disappointing to me and no way to treat someone. š I wouldn't...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeware: what they quote, is not what they charge. I booked a simple single process gray root touch up. My stylist was actually fine and she did a decent job. It all broke down when I checked out with the clueless receptionist. The single process was $75 online and when I confirmed on the phone. When she rang me up, suddenly it was $85. When I asked why she said the following reasons: extra charge for more product (did not say which product), environmental charge and recycling hair charge. Naturally I asked more to understand what these random charges were as this has never happened to me in my over 25+ years of getting my hair done. She said 2.50 for the hair dye (again, how unprofessional, no salon ever has charged for more product); then the rest is some BS they put on a card board at the register for "environmental"...so they recycle my washed up hair (GROSS!) and charge me so they can be better to the enviornment?? The clueless receptionist was not able to explain further. I told her point blank this is NOT how you treat customers, you tell them up front what the service costs and that's how it works. If they want to tack on $10 add'l for nonsense charges, LET ME KNOW UP FRONT. This is the most ludicrous thing I have ever seen/heard.
The charges continue. I went to tip and they use "tippy" so I got to pay an additional $3 or so just to tip my stylist! Unbelievable this place is!!
To the manager of this store: this was my first visit to your salon. I was really hoping for a better experience since I am in search of a go-to salon. I go to the salon weekly. The check out process was just awful and it is not accpetable to charge your customers an extra $10 "just because" and never explain it. Very...
