As a wedding planner, I’ve had the privilege of working at many venues, but McCrory Gardens in Brookings stands out for its natural beauty and versatility. There are SO many great garden options to get married in (some garden spaces are large for bigger weddings and some are small and tucked away, but all have their charm!) Their indoor event hall is beautiful (seats about 200) and has on-site catering. The staff is incredibly accommodating and professional, ensuring that every detail runs smoothly. They truly go above and beyond to make the day special for couples and their guests! An instant 5 STARS for McCrory Gardens. We love working with them!

This is a great place to visit! Plan to spend some time in the garden. It is well worth the admission price. Also check out the adjacent arboretum. It's free. You can see things such as a straw bale house in addition to all of the plants and flowers. It's a very nice leisurely price for a stroll. There is plenty of seating throughout the garden if you want to take some time to reflect or just need to take a break from walking. The folks in The visitor center are very helpful and will give you suggestions on various features.

Lovely gardens even in the middle of September! We had a tour on a cart and our tour guide was splendid! Glad we had the tour since we could ask her questions and she could give us history! Highly recommend!! Once of the best gardens I have visited. Looking forward to going back in the evening to take my daughter's senior photos.

The gardens are absolutely beautiful especially from June through October, but even if you visit at other times of the year they are decorated seasonally and there is always something to do or see. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. There are many special events and activities held there throughout the year. Right now is Garden Glow where all of the gardens are lit with Christmas lights and Santa comes for a visit every evening until December 24th. The cost is minimal at about $5. This helps keep the gardens beautiful as funding was drastically cut by SDSU a couple years ago and the gardens had to raise their own funds to keep well maintained and planted with all the gorgeous flowers. The gardens are also a great place to hold your own private events like meetings, conferences, weddings and receptions. Catering is available through...

Growing up in Brookings, I spent alot of time there. Always a great place to come and walk and relax. Or it was. A few years ago, they put a prison fence around it and started charging. I haven't been there since. I hate that they did that. $4 to get in, for what I and the rest of Brookings enjoyed for free for so many years. This place used to be sort of magical, but that huge, ugly black fence ruined it. I guess they don't care, as long as they're making money off it. Also, it's not as marvelous as the pictures make it look, and it's right next to Wal-mart. So, out of town people, there's something to...
