Usually when we eat at Culver's, we have a decent fast food experience and the food is always fresh and tastes good. However, our most recent experience has left a disappointing impression. We went around 7pm and it was not busy by any means and there were a high number of employees working and standing around to the point that it almost looked crowded. When we ordered, it was asked what we wanted on the specialty burger and told that it came only with fried onions. We said we wanted everything that it normally came with. The young man taking the order ended up punching into the system that we wanted extra oinions I believe, because we were charged an extra $.20 for them. When the order went to the kitchen screen, the cooks asked the young man at the register if he meant to put no onions since the burger already had onions on it. He told them no, they want the onions on it. The food came out fast like always and what do you know, no onions on the burger. We were very disappointed by this because it seemed like a string of bad luck with restaurants lately, so we took it back to the counter and the manager gave us a bowl of onions. Problem solved there. However, when we finished our food, we went back up and ordered custard. Literally 20 minutes later, we hadn't gotten the custard and went to ask about it. They said it must have been accidentally deleted from the screen and apologized again and got our custard very quickly. We are happy with the corrective service but disappointed with the bad luck we had this time. We'll hopefully...
Read moreMy husband and I enjoy eating at Culver’s any chance we get. We live about two hours from the nearest Culver’s. We were traveling with another couple and had the opportunity to eat at the Culver’s in Brookings, SD yesterday. I sorry to say that it was not a good experience. We each ordered a sandwich and a frozen custard treat. We told the cashier that we wanted to eat our sandwich and then come back to the counter to get the custard. We were barely seated when the custard arrived at our table, way before our sandwiches The flavor of the day was turtle and we each ordered a two scoop dish. We’ve eaten this before and it was delicious. The cup of frozen custard contained very little chocolate, caramel, and pecans. It was mostly vanilla custard. I took them back to the counter and explained why I was disappointed. He looked at me like I was crazy. I asked him to look at the picture of the flavor of the day and compare it to what we were served. He added a little bit of chocolate and a few pecans to our dishes, but not nearly enough. When our sandwiches arrived , the hamburger patties on the bacon burger and single butter burger were charred. Needless to say, we won’t be going back to that...
Read morebest "fast food" burgers in town. We had these 10-15 years ago in eastern WI when I was still in high school, always impressed. What makes the stuff so good? Made fresh to order, and the beef is never frozen.. it really gives a noticeable difference in flavor... the beef in their burgers is just wonderful.. juicy and delicious, with a mouth feel just not found in any other take out burger place I've found.
Love "concrete turtle malts" which were an advertised malt some years ago... and their custard in general. Absolutely delicious. The one hit I would give them is although the buns are toasted with butter, they still have that 'fast food' bun taste to them, as opposed to a 'freshly baked' taste such as that found at Jimmy Johns. Not a huge deal, certainly better buns than any other fast food burger place, but noticeable to...
