When you first walk in, the smell of delicious BBQ just hits you, and you immediately start salivating. I splurged and ordered the 2 meat combo - pulled pork and chicken salad, with a side of cole slaw and corn bread. I added a side of sweet potato fries and supported the youths at SDSU, and bought some ice cream as well. Pulled pork was phenomenal, with and without the BBQ sauce. Chicken salad was pretty stellar, I personally, like smaller pieces of chicken, but nonetheless, it was still delicious. Coleslaw was perfectly tangy. The cornbread was a little dry, but the butter and honey they provided made up for that. The sweet potato fries were a hit, too. Perfectly fried and seasoned nicely. The ice cream was nice and creamy and the best way to end this feast.

Backyard BBQ? WHAT a joke. As I walked in, I was greeted with a friendly hello, but I was soon to be disappointed by their rude, second-class service. I watched as he dumped 10 wings from the freezer into some oil. Later, I picked up my food from the front, only to be even more disappointed as I saw the droopy fries and dry wings(a lil stingy on the sauce). Not to mention, shortly after I picked up my food from the front, they hand delivered someone else's food to the table beside me. The food should have tasted better for how hungry I was and how expensive it was. I am extremely unhappy with the rude service and overall experience, but sadly, I don't think they will improve and, therefore, won't be back. šŸ™‚

I had the three meat combo, brisket and pulled pork sliders, three pork ribs with mac n cheese and cornbread. The pork was on the dry side, the brisket had more of a pot roast flavor, and the ribs were a little tough and still had the silver skin on the back of them. All three types of meat seemed light on smoke, and if it weren't for the different BBQ sauces to amp up the flavor, the flavor of the meat was on the dull side. The mac n cheese had a kick, but the cheese sauce had the texture of chalky powder cheese sauce. However, the cornbread was on point, sweat, moist, and tasted great. Overall, not bad for a small-town BBQ joint.

Ordered ribs and boneless wings. The ribs did not have a bark on them, were cold, and seemed like they had just been sitting left out under heat. The wings were also cold and did not have enough sauce. My sides were chili and hash-browns. Chili was good but cold. Hash-browns were definitely old. Wife ordered the combo with smoked chicken and brisket. Thought they had good flavor and were not fatty. Sides were hashbrowns and coleslaw. Coleslaw was from a container. The sause station was inaccessible as the pumps did not work unless you pushed really hard; then sauce went everywhere. kids had corn dogs with mac and cheese. Corn dogs were fine (corn dogs are corn dogs...) mac and cheese seemed old. They liked the cookie, though! We ordered at 6:18pm so would have figured food would have...
