COMPLETE AND UTTER WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY
We took our family of six here for my daughters 8th birthday party. We went in to get wrist bands for the kids. My husband told the cashier that we needed admission for ballocity and hucks harbor. They gave us the wrist bands, we paid, ordered snacks, drinks, and a giant pizza. The kids played in ballocity for awhile. We then went to go into the indoor water park (where we originally told the cashier we would be going). Our family who was joining us at the party was told that they could not even sit outside the pool area and let the kids play without buying wristbands. We explained that the adults had no intention on swimming. The staff still refused to let them in with us. So our family left the party early so the kids could go swim (which was already bad enough). At this point it was already an hour from closing the pool. We take the kids into the pool area and the lifeguard sends them right back out because "they didn't have the RIGHT wrist bands". I spoke with the manager, she called security on me. They then threatened to have the police come if I did not buy MORE wrist bands for 40 minutes of swimming at my child's BIRTHDAY PARTY when we had already purchased the wrist bands to begin with. Apparently the fact that I chose this "family fun" oriented place for a birthday and had already spent gobs of money was completely irrelevant even tho we made it very clear when buying the wrist bands to begin with what our plans were for the evening.
This ended with me pulling our children out of the pool and going home filled with much disappointment and disgust.
The staff seems fairly careless in their job. It's not hard to listen to your customer and meet their needs. If you haven't done that then your customer shouldn't be penalized for the staffs negligence. Bottom line, if you have someone in your business spending money then the customer is always right and if there's been a mix up then it should be addressed in a professional manner. Arguing over a staff members ignorance and trying to force your customer to give you more money isn't making the company more money. It's flat out LOSING money and customers when all is said and done.
This was such a disappointment. We will NEVER step foot in the facility again. My advice to anyone planning a child's birthday is to avoid this business at all costs. its a...
Read moreThe best part of this hotel are the beds. Everything else is a poorly ran, operated & maintained. For the last five years large parts of the waterpark were being remolded indoors and outdoors. As I type this review, the indoor waterpark is completely closed. Also, when you call to reserve a room, you can guarantee they will not disclose what’s being renovated or shut down. We come here to take family vacations annually since it’s a short drive from us, and this will certainly be our last trip.
The back parking lot has numerous potholes that will either start or end your stay with ankle injury or a misalignment to your vehicle. They generate a large profit from their casino and it shows. A parking garage is offered for casino guests. We wouldn’t want them to make a long walk of shame after gambling their last .88 on a slot machine. This ‘family friendly’ resort wouldn’t profit if it weren’t for the casino.
Let’s talk about the amenities in the complex. Most games in the arcade cost a 1.00 to play and last approximately 15 seconds. The few games you can play for less than a dollar are the token games which resemble the quarter sweeper at the carnivals that—no one ever won, or the outdated toddler games. The bowling alley is an option, but they have leagues most weekends so trying to scramble a time is always a challenge. It’s not even worth looking into unless you want to get on a wait list for hours.
Lastly, the Boogaloo (aka the Flygaloo.) Since management has created an entry from the outdoor waterpark to the bar there are usually more flies (times ten) than patrons. Most days you can find 3-5 hostesses at the stand chatting while the other staff disappear for long periods of time, or my favorite, when your waiter sits at the bar to watch a game and forgets your apps and entrees.
This review is an honest as it gets. I hope management recognizes some of these areas and makes...
Read moreWe had a random weekend free to spend with our two young-ish children (both under 10). It’s cold so we wanted something indoors. The room and facilities were VERY clean. They got our room ready for an early check in which was very appreciated.
We had a good time but a couple of things to note: the indoor splash pad is very small. The indoor pool is like a standard hotel pool. Since this was the main draw (indoor waterpark), it was sufficient but I was hoping for more.
While I’m glad to see they are flourishing with business, dinner and the arcade/race cars were really, really busy with significantly large parties which made it difficult to find a timely place to eat with seating. The arcade was packed with kids (which, again, great! But meant a lot of waiting).
Finding breakfast was tricky but not impossible though, as a resort, I really expected to not have to leave the property- again, not really their fault, just something to note if you’re doing things with kids. The Panera is in the same building but you walk outside for coffee options but they look to be adding a coffee specific place soon. The foam ball activity is under construction, but there was plenty to do otherwise. Scanning cards for the arcade was efficient, just know it’s not consistent from game to game as far as which direction to scan.
The kids had fun and it was a good chance to explore a new place. We had a hard time finding answers to indoor kid specific questions so I thought I’d provide some insight. If you’re an overnight guest, they offer a great deal on arcade credits!
We’re looking forward to trying it out again in the summer when the outdoor water...
